I called back number (07) 3620 7576 reached IVR for a company called Charter Mercantile Agency.

Clearly a scam call. Some call center in India claiming for be from AMEX. As I have nothing owing on any of my AMEX credit cards there is no reason for AMEX to be calling.

My bank has advised not to talk to them, if there was something wrong with my AMEX cards / lines of credit then the BANK would call me, not someone claiming to be from AMEX.

I called back number (07) 3620 7576 spoke to Melissa and she said company is charter mercantile agency a debt collection company.

Since May 2020 I have received 52 calls from this number. They just won't stop.

Cakls me every two hours. When i answer there is nobody there.

Phone rang then diverted asked my name, then when I asked who was calling they hung up on me, I called the number back they used my phone number claiming to be chatter mercantile wanted my personal details which I wouldn’t provide, and I said if it’s important they’ll call me back, but I’m not giving them any of my details

they call every weekday morning between 7.30-8am and never leave a message, sometimes also on Sat. No one is ever there if you do answer.
Some days they alternatively call from 0488 824 510. been going on for months.
Definitely SCAM.

Don't answer it and turn the message system off, that way they get sick of calling. If you keep answering it, they will keep ringing and possible being able to tap in.

Many calls from this nuisance number. All calls from this number either only let your phone ring once but if you happen to answer the call immediately it just hangs up as soon as you answer it!

They call me every morning. Scam.

We get a call once a day - rings for a few seconds and the automatically cuts off.

Junk/Scam Call

Rings every morning between 7:30 am and 8am. When I answer there is no-one there. Occasionally they will ring again about an hour later.
Unfortunately I can't block calls on my landline.

This number calls and calls sometimes 20 min apart 6 or 7 times. They never leave a message.
