Scam call pretending to be a business (Queensland communication group) working with NBN and there may be some interruptions to our service due to works in our area. if Queensland communication group exist they don't seem to do this type of work and could not find any activity online since 2021 for a similarly named business. They were attempting to get information about our businesses internet and phone system. I'm guessing in preparation for another call trying to sell us a scam phone system. They knew our street address. If there was going to be interruptions that would come from our ISP, not NBN or the contractor. The phone number they called on and provided are not in service. The website provided was not real either.

Caller: someone claimed to be Qld communication group

Got a call this afternoon from someone claimed to be Qld communication group regarding NBN work in the area (with accurate street address) next week and interruptions to internet and phone service. Sounds suspicious as they were unable to provide a specific date and time frame when requested. I questioned them if a planning outage, what's the point of notifying us a week in advance but not giving us a specific date and time so we can plan ahead, but the lady on the other end was trying to divert the topic by asking the number of handsets, ISP, director's name and contact number, said will get back to us later. Got off the call and tried to do some research online and unable to identify their business name and website looks out of service. Likely to be a scammer so please be aware.

Have been getting these calls last 3 days from various numbers, but today was from (07) 3521 4183. When I asked questions about the upgrade and what the impact is going to be, they quickly hung up saying they'd send an email with the details. On the previous calls I've told them if they were legit, they would already know the information they were asking for and they have snappily told me to call my service provider then if our business experiences problems when they do their line upgrades.

Exactly the same call as the above comments, when I asked if we will be given a number to contact on the day if we have any outages she said that the techs on the day will provide us with that information when they text the day and time information to us....hmmmmmm

Disguising herself as if she is from NBN asking if we have had any outages as they're doing work in the area ! Wanting to know all our information about our phone systems ! This seems like cold call before the information is passed onto phone salesman.

Same as most others here, when she asked for phone age and number of handsets and lines sounded suspicious, I wouln't answer, instead I asked for the business name, which was given as NSW communication group, I then asked for phone number, and she made excuses why I could not ring ( using voip ) but could not provide an office number, I asked for their business address and the response was "we have several locations" when pressed further she said Qld. Eagle Farm, but would not provide an actual address. I then asked for their website address, same, they don't have one.

So I asked her what kind of legitimate business has no phone number, no address, and no website? At which pointr she hung up.

Caller: Ann - QLD Communication Group

Received another call from Ann at the QLD Communication Group. Ann has a Filipino/American style accent, but very fluent in English. Like most other calls she asked if she reached "business name", when confirmed she asked if we have had any interruptions within the last week. From here she then stated that there would be works being conducted within the area on the 15/08/24 and wanted to know how many phones we have onsite. When I stated I was unable to disclose that information, she pressed for an estimation, stated again that I can't disclose that information, she asked if she could speak with management. When told that they weren't in, Ann said she would call back later and hung up abruptly.

Same as other posts, claiming our NBN was going to be affected. Had my actual street address. I advised it didn't concern us and she thanked me for my time and hung up.

Received a call from Qld Communications Group on (07) 3521 4196 claiming they were working for NBN and there were upcoming planned maintenance which might cause interruptions to our service. Went on to confirm our address and then started asking for number of handsets, etc. After a few questions from me about how them knowing this information would prevent the interruptions I ended the call. We've had a few of these calls recently from same mob. Capalaba Qld.

Just got a call from this number claiming to be from Qld communication group but sounding like from a Filipino call centre. Claim there was going to be NBN work in the area next week. They started asking irrelevant questions like how many handsets we have, how old were they, who is in charge of the phone system.

The call script leads in with them saying they are from QLD Communication Group and they are calling to prepare for upgrades to your building's NBN and internet services. They then begin asking you to confirm information. First of all, they read out the business name and ask you to confirm it. Then, they read out the street address and ask you to confirm it. Then, they ask if it is correct that you have been experiencing internet outages.

At that point in my call, I figured out this was a scam pitch and asked to be taken off the call list and that they should be speaking with building management. They very quickly hung up. Got another call from them five minutes later and they immediately hung up after hearing my voice. Maybe they figured they would hit someone less savvy the second time?
