Pretending to be Australian tax office and says to press 1 to avoid legal action and arrest

And me today - informed me that my tax file number was suspended - fraudulent activity in my account and a bonus comment of "an arrest warrant has been filed under your name". I did call back and there was a series of messages in various languages. Block this number

I called the number back to an automated message saying the number has been disconnected due to sturdiest fraudulent activity

announced that my Tax file number and ABN have been suspended and pending for arrest, speak to the officer press 1. lol

Claimed to be Co. Quon and digital directory service for free

Pretty sure it’s a scam. Robot voice with an Australian accent. Claiming there was legal action being taken against me due to something to do with Tax. They didn’t say they were from the ATO though.

hung up when I answered - called back out of curiosity(after checking this site!) - voice msg - number suspended as suspected of being used for fraudulent activity

I have had two phone calls today and two yesterday. One from a Melbourne number and one from a Brisbane number. Both saying the same thing about my tax. I also had two phone calls from the US as well saying exactly the same thing. I have blocked all of them but it doesn’t matter how many times they are blocked ,they keep on ringing .

Didnt answer as I dont know anyone in QLD - no message left. After checking the number on this site I'm glad I didnt!! Number is now blocked!

SCAM!!!

Received two unsolicited calls to my mobile phone in the same minute. Didn't answer. Not interested.

I knew it was a scam caller but I answered it anyway to see what bs they were going to try and spin. Instead, they hung up 3 secs after I picked up the phone
