They were chasing me for a debt transferred from a financial sector entity

They called today and asked if I knew a certain person. And it was in regards to a personal business matter. Asked me for that person's phone number as they were a friend. This was an assumption and they were incorrect. I said I would call them back as I was driving phone call went through blue tooth. I called back not long along ago and senior staff member Nathan whom I spoke with for general inquires answered the phone by name and when I asked for the business name he would not give it. I was pissed off as this has nothing to do with me nor the person in question whom Mikayla had asked the phone if. From this it's obvious that they debt collectors as they wanted me to disclose my name when they already had it. I asked quite bluntly for the name of the company and I was told over and over that I had to identify myself. Which they already knew whom. I was. Asked again from where they were at, again asked for the company name, again they wouldn't give it to me again, so I demanded to speak to his manager or give me the name of the business. So I was told by Nathan that if he told me the name of the business he was working for that he would lose his job. I said again very firmly that they contacted me that Mikayla contacted me and wanted to know how they got my personal details. Told him give me the name or let me speak to the manager. He said I would get told the same thing. I said I don't care I want the company name or to speak to the manager. Nathan than told me to hold the line one moment while he out me through. I waited long enough with silence on the end of the phone, finally his manager came on the line. Said hi Ben speaking, then I said to him that I wanted the name of the business he worked for, he again iterated what Nathan had said. He asked venomently if I was the person that Mikayla wanted the phone number for. I told him that I was not that boerson, my re than a few times, which he had barked at me that I was that person. He asked me to verify who I was, I told him that he knew who I was, he said firstly that he didn't. I told him he was lying. How could he have not know when, they had my info right there in response my of them? I also said that not to give me a bum steer and not insult my intelligence when he tried feverishly again to obtain my I do from. I also heatedly said to him how was it that his company, that he worked for, have Mikayla call me and not disclose the name of the company? I than told him I would take to the ACCC and through other avenues if this information was not disclosed to me. He said due to the privacy Act that they could not and would not disclose the name of the company. He did not appreciate that I was abrupt with him and to the point. I know my rights and this guy was full of it. He said for me to disclose who I was and my reason for calling. I was not disclosing it as he already knew who I was and also what my contact number was. Than I asked him again for the name and he than said he would let me know the name of the company once he contacted the lady that was pursuing the person whom I know. And than he would get back in contact with me. I told him I was sick of the horse sh*t and he said he didn't lt let ke me swearing at him. I said to him I wasn't that I was swearing at the situation. Was told by both of them that I was obviously quite upset, and yes I am. Also I had asked how they were able to collect my information and said that they that I was tracked on a bought yes you heard it, a purchased database. So I than put it back on him, how was it they could purchase my personal information and be allowed to contact me, though he could not divulge the company's name? He than said that he would block my number, I laughed at him said go right ahead as I didnt give a damn if he done that or not. I told him in quick succession that he needs to do his own dirty work and speak to the correct person, the one that created the debt and not everyone else who was not concerned with the matter at hand.

"Its in relation to a personal matter", wanted me to contact a friend with her message and asked if she could text me. She could not tell me who she was or what company she was from. I could hear the sounds of a call centre in the background..

I called back the number (07) 3333 2499 and spoke with a lady that did not mention the company name

Well that was a wild ride. I sure hope English isn't your mother-tongue.

A lady named Danielle, couldn't tell me where she was from or what is was regarding and was trying to find out personal details to "look me up" in there system. Want to talk about scam?!
