Definitely not a scam. We have just had a large shipment sent from the UK and I have been presented with all the correct paperwork for import duty. This is legitimate. If you want to receive your items, which I assume are worth over $1,000 because they've attracted import duty, you should definitely answer and make payment.

This is a SCAM - Do NOT pay these f**** any money.
Basically, this is how it goes down... You buy something online from overseas, and somewhere between where you bought it from and Australia - There's a sneaky little c*** working for one of the delivery companies who is taking down peoples information off of parcels and passing it along to these scammers.
The scammers then phone you up (sometimes before your parcel arrives, sometimes weeks later), claiming to be from "DHL Express" (even when you probably never used DHL) and insist that you have a parcel delivery waiting, which requires you to pay Customs Import Duties and GST to them over the phone.
It's bullsh*t, but some people might fall for it if the scammers call them before their parcel arrives.
It's been reported on Scamwatch.gov.au - The more people who report it, the better.
In the meantime, just tell Susan (or whatever fake name the Idian b*tch uses) to f*ck off and hang up the phone!

Absolute scam. I got the DHL routine, $236.50 for import taxes on a consignment. I pointed out to her that it was a scam and that she wouldn't have much luck, but she insisted on maintaining her bulls***.

Caller: Lebara Mobile Customer Service Legitimate follow up call to a previous customer service call I made 3 weeks ago, regarding a double charge on my prepaid mobile autorecharge last month.
From the above comments, sounds like could be that this number is from a call centre aggregator/number used by both scammers and legit companies?

Caller: DHL (07) 3329 6000 Definitely not a scam, i had a small shipment of alcohol shipped from the UK & it was just DHL calling to let me know the charges for import duties (Which i was expecting to pay). After reading comments on here i was dubious but it all lined up with shipment information from the seller on DHLs Website. The number is a legit DHL phone number.

Caller: Airline (name withheld) customer relations Hang on. Guys - can be legit - don’t jump to conclusions
Had a call from this number and suspected it as a SCAM. HOWEVER when I quizzed the caller as to the reason for the call they were able to provide me with enough details to confirm that it was a genuine call (they were not asking for money)

Dealing with DHL requires a couple of good pulls straight out of the whiskey bottle before you start. Come to think of it, you need a couple more afterwards also!

This low life number rang me 3 times today and every time they hung up on me. Tried ringing back from a silent number and it has always been engaged. Happy to block this number now :)
