Caller: Alisha??

A lady called Alisha called me on behalf of ATO and wants to collect debts

I got the same call last Friday night. The lady I spoke with refused to give any information about why she was calling or where she was calling from unless I verified my identity beforehand. She gave me a "QC" code to type into the ATo website search bar in an effort to prove she was an ATO contractor. It took me to a random ATO page, No proof at all. I reported this to the ATO and they do not have (07) 3292 0500 recorded as the number for any of their contractors, nor did they have any record of any of their contractors contacting me. They believe this is a scam.

Debt Collector, pretending to be the Aust Tax Office.

Caller: a woman with a Thai(?) accent called Jay

pit bull attack relentless.advised me to get a loan or cash my super or remorgage my house or sell items to pay my tax debt. she must have said " you owe ATO money' ten times.not real professional attitude.

Caller: Phil posing as a Tax Office Employee

Called a business pretending to be an ATO employee in regards to a client, gave a reference number that does not exist with client.
Advised it would be recorded from training and quality purposes. Was eating at the time, and sounded like a call centre.
Seems like they have researched...

I just received the call this morning ididnt answer they left voice mail claiming that they are tax collection I'm not sure if they are scum but why will they call me from Brisbane and I'm in Sydney ?

This number is not a scam.
They are a collections agency that calls to recover unpaid monies on behalf of the ATO.

said they were calling on behalf of the tax office, total scam!!!! said they would provide numbers to call back and i told her what a nasty piece of work she is.

A girl called and said she is calling from ATO and warned that this conversation will be recorded, asked my full name and address. unfortunately I gave her my name and address and then asked me about someone I didn't know, said sorry and hang up.

I rang the number back, it said Collections House

As a tax agent I can confirm that you have a right to ask any party calling "on behalf of the ATO" to identify themselves and the organisation they are calling from. DO NOT give them any identifiers until they let you know where they are calling from. At the moment the ATO is advising tax payers to be aware of a lot of scammers out there. If chasing outstanding debts they are generally using legitimate collectors, such as Probe Group, who will identify themselves when requested.

Genuine ATO callers don't always show as "private".
Possibly true for most call centres, however ATO operatives higher up the food chain display their personal DID number/s.

Said he was from ATO, told me to call me later, he didn't. SUPER SCAM

Said she was from the ATO. I hung up - obviously a scam; genuine ATO callers show as "private".

I called back number (07) 3292 0500 rang 5 times then goes to busy tone.

I called back number (07) 3292 0500 was put on hold music but no one answered the call.
