what can you do other than block the number. I get so many calls

They are still at it. As soon as I answered they hung up. Have now blocked the number. Thanks to the people who take the time to report these con-artists.

Same here, rang me and told me I'm entitled to a payment, tried to keep them on the line for as long as possible to waste as much of their time as I could.

Just yelled something out at me, I said sorry I dont understand (at first it cut out), then got some more yelling a laugh and they hung up....Sounded African but it was really hard to tell.

They said they were calling about an accident we apparently had, hung up on us when we said we hadn't had an accident.

No one receiving call after I called back 3x.

Said I’d been involved in a traffic accident and if I didn’t want the police involved to pay up using Western Union. I said oh really!!! I’d better bring in the cash - what’s your address? They hung up then when I pushed for address!

They have called multiple times and simply hang up.
They want you to ring back as probably money made per return call or they get paid on some legit service that pays them per contact and they are doing this just for record building to scam their paying client.
It's a landline, anyone know how to get an adress from it? Would love to go knock on the door.

rings i answers and then they say's nothing then they hang up yep real bright wonder if they know you have to talk on phone lol.

Youngish male British accent. Said I had recently been in an accident (I had) and he had a compensation cheque for me. Had my name and suburb and started trying to "confirm" details. Lot of background noise, I just hung up and called the number back, could not be connected. Blocked the number.

constantly calls

They have been calling for weeks again. Every day, same time. I have caller display and today I answered with saying ....... Police Station, how can we help? They couldn't hang up fast enough. Surely it is time for the telephone company that is responsible for this number to sort them out and bar them calling.

Car accident scam but knew my first name. Spoke in an uneducated way which reminded me of some criminals I had come across in Prisons.

Claim they are from Avis - SCAM

Weird South African accent called saying he was from AMS but then he sounded like he got nervous and hung up. Maybe first day on the scam job!!

Says from avis. Scam.

Called me a scammer when I told him I was the person at fault for my accident.
