It's nothing to do with them being too stupid to speak...it's computer generated and they just pick up each call as answered so they don't waste time dialling and waiting, it would just scroll through, that's why you get nothing, silence etc because your call was not actually picked up by the sender.

I received three calls today..twice, there was dead silence when I answered. I called the number back and got a recorded message telling me it was Suncorp...and whilst googling that, I received another call and this time someone spoke and told me they were calling from AAMI about my insurance! Really? I deal with AAMI in Victoria, why am I receiving calls from an (07) number? I just called AAMI and they said that Suncorp own AAMI but they should not be calling so many times and pestering people. They have made a note that I do not want them calling me again and the lady from AAMI is going to report the numerous complaints regarding this number.

This number originates from the Suncorp Group. They represent Suncorp, GIO, AAMI and Shannons. If you call the number back, you get a pre-recorded message stating "you may hav missed a call from us. We will call you back if necessary. Please note there is no action required by you".
This is the trait of a telemarketing group trying to sell something. Just block the number in your mobile.

Seems if you don't answer they start using different numbers, ie (07) 3041 6398, (07) 3041 6395, & (03) 8560 1055, presuming you've blocked one. I answered the last two to ask them to stop a calling. The last two numbers (one from ?Qld & one from ?Vic) both calls looking for 'Derrik ' within minutes of each other & when I told the second to take us off both call lists, he said 'OK' indicating that are linked.

They hung up as soon as I answered. It could have been AAMI insurance, as they rang earlier when I couldn't stay talking and they said they would ring back. Nice to have someone ring back then hang up in your ear !

Somewhere in a call centre in india, some poor pr*ck has been given a list that includes my mobile and has been told - spam these numbers, they're live leads all itching to change their power suppliers etc. Then they call and get a lesson in Strayan profanities.

This is a Suncorp phone number for outgoing calls... Suncorp also owns the AAMI, Apia, Just Car Insurance, Shannons, InsureMyRide, Vero, Terri Scheer, Bingle, CIL, Asteron and Tyndall insurance brands in Australia which is why there is conflicting comments about which company it is. Many of the brands are operated from the same facilities.

Hey. It's a bogus SCAM call center. Don't give them any details. They knew my and my husband's names and sent me to a fake AAMI competition website where I was supposed to leave ALL of my details to win a prize... DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS.

SCAM. They claim to be from AAMI and tell you to enter a competition via a web address. The address takes you to a bogus AAMI site where you enter ALL of your details. I have contacted AAMI and let them know. DO NOT ANSWER.
