had missed call on mobile from this number, then home phone rang straight after. i answered and no response for about 5 seconds then they hung up

It's an automated system doing telemarketing for NRMA. They were checking up if I was going to renew and selling some extra options.
Took approx 10 seconds from pickup before someone was connected to the line on their end.

ya,,,just now my Mobile ring,,by this number,,
then NO ONE Answered,,after I picked up!

Then,,a second later,,,MY HOME PHONE WAS RINGING!!
again ,,no one answered!!!!

So,Is this the TELEMARKETING CALLS???!!*I (on THINK MOBILE)

Just want to confirm how you know this? Do you work or have you worked for them?

Brendan I think that the 6 out of 10 calls will be answered ratio is crap.

If this many people get hangups on the phone, including me today, then that ratio doesn't sound right.

Making the callers more productive by phoning and hanging up on customers doesn't sound real nice, and sounds like the usual case of putting profits over customers.

I won't be answering next time they call, so I don't waste my time on more hangups.

I just took out car insurance with NRMA, so the theory sounds right for me.

i'm on vodafone and also recently registered new insurance with nrma....they've called twice but there's no answer. bl00dy annoying.
