Claimed a payment had been taken from my account and to call back to resolve...

Caller: Automated message

Received a call, message was left, the voicemail did not say who called. The message mentions a purchase and funds from my account $299.99. I have have not ordered anything so I know it is a scam. Reading through other comments, I am interested to find out what the significance is regards to the amount of $299.99.

Voice mail asking me to press 1 as $299.99 is to be debited from my account - never mentioned my name - SCAM

Message left via an sms saying : You missed a call from (07) 3040 9683 who said: "Will be debited from your account. If you have not placed this order please call us at (03) 9028 7151 or press one immediately."

Caller: recorded message

Claimed to be from Amazon and they were debiting my account which I don't have. Blocked and ignored

Claimed to be Amazon sayibg $799 would be debited from my account for recent purchase, asked to confirm, press 1 if didn't make purchase, pressed 1 went thru to woman who was rude and hung up on me

left a phone message, which started with the first part missing...same as above, wanted me to call a number to not be charged $299.99 - sounds like scam. Deleted voice message and did nothing.
The call was shown as 'private number' but the voice message oddly showed as @tesltra...

Same as all the others...ring back for $299.99 refund!

I received a call that $299.99 was going to be deducted and to push 1 if this was incorrect.
I pushed 1 but nothing it hung up.
scam for sure - I havent brought anything. But its still concerning!!!!

Phone call advising we will be debiting your account $299.99. If you have not placed this order please call us at ....

Same message as all above. Will take out $299.99 from my acct if I don’t cancel or contact caller.

Automated phone message that said my Amazon account would be charged $299.99 if I didn’t press 1 to cancel. I checked my account and haven’t ordered anything for over 6 months.

Robocaller regarding 299.99 purchase, and to call another number.

I received the same call today. No idea who it is from.

Automated voice message saying $299.99 cents would be taken from my account unless i called a number or returned call. earlier today i had a crank call from a mobile from an automated chinese voice, too. Maybe they rang, found out what language i answered and which scam t throw my way? How do we file complaints? I did a block caller on both number

I was contacted this afternoon but, as I couldn't answer the call, it went to Messages.
The message that was left by a well spoken Asian lady didn't identify the caller but said to "contact a representative to cancel a refund of $299.99".
Although I realised it was a dubious call, I did try to call the number out of interest but there was no answer.

Assuming a scam.

Saying from Amazon $299.99 Will be debited from my account. Obvious scammer I know, but how are they obtaining Amazon purchase records to know who used Amazon recently?

Same as other comments saying that a purchase of $299.99 was made from our account and hit 1 if it wasn’t us or we would not be refunded. Hung up and tried calling back with caller ID disabled and they would not answer.

The difference is that our message said that it was in relation to an Amazon account, not eBay. Definitely a scam.
