Caller: (07) 3017 3922 This world is full of scammers. If someone on a call is asking for your details but cannot give you a legitimate reason that has relevance to you, you need to hang up or risk identity theft. A legit call can give verifiable information that you can check yourself before getting back to them. This number does not do that so is either incompetent or scam.

Call said they are from Debt collection agency for Westpac. Asked me for my personal info (Full DOB, address) to confirm my identity. I have told them that firstly, I need to know why I get called for what kinds of debt. But keep insisting on confirming my detail first. So, I told them that I will check with my bank manager and hang up. When I called bank about this call, they said this call is not genuine call. So please do ignore and block this number!!

Answered and they asked for someone who does not live at my address. Caller sounded like someone had given them a wrong number and it was expected.

It is Collection House, yes they are a debt collection agency. They will ask you your full name, DOB, and address. If you feel uncomfortable doing that, take their number and call them back.If you're just trying to weasel out of paying a debt, simply hang up and go about your business. Just try to remember that credit defaults follow you around for quite some time. You may not even have a debt with them, they may simply be looking for someone with the same name as you.Just remember what you did about your debts when 3-4 years from now you're trying to finance a new car/house/mobile phone/rental application and getting knocked back from everyone. These days, even moving to the UK or NZ won't get you out of paying a debt. Most times they're just looking for a payment arrangement from you. They may demand that you pay in full, but most people can't. Tell them your sob story and make a payment arrangement.

its going to be debt collection from one of the banks.

They are a mercantile agency - a debt collectors. If you do not have a debt, you probably have a name similar to someone who does.

I had them just call me and they said they were calling from Collection House - they wanted me to confirm my DOB before they would tell me anything further. It then turned out to be about someone with the same name as the DOB didn't match.I asked how they got my number (weas my mobile) and they said that they did a search and my name came up in Victoria.I still think it's a bit odd....

Just got a call from this number asking for my date of birth and address. Was very uncool and upsetting.Would not tell me why they are calling until I tell them personal details. As IF!!!
