Phoned and asked for contact details of a neighbour. Claims to have found my private unlisted mobile number online through a search website. Said he was from a finance company and needs address and phone number for my neighbour.

Called business asking for me to pass on a message to one of our candidates. Asked where they were from and they said it was personal and they can't disclose that information. Not the first time this has happened, called my colleague asking about her former partner from 5+ years ago. Definitely a scam.

Lion finance is a loan company not a debt collector, it called collection house, because if you google lion finance it will come up with lion financal loan company and collection house which is lion finance. And I agree if they really want things solve they wont call you 10 times a day on other people phones and at least let you get stuff sorted so you know whats going on.
I wont give out my details or anything as they do illegal act by claiming they are lion finance when they dont even have a company and it comes up on credit obusdman as collection house and they only been around for 2 years. And 30173600 isnt their number.

Dont answer they will get anyone numbers even if you giving it out or not. They claim you owe money but cant provided any proof. But you got too. When you tell them that you dont have what they are claiming you need to provide them, and they wont stop til you do stuff yourself. So if I was you I report them to credut ombudsman and get them involve. Because as soon asI told them, they had no clue who they are and are scared of them.

Have been continually calling for months for a person who would not have lived at this property for 11 years. I just don't answer their calls any more as they don't listen to logic or reasoning. Nothing but pests !

If a debt collection company calls you they cannont disclose where they are calling form unless speaking with other people bound by the same NPP (national privacy principles act) such as HR/PAYROLL departments. The reason they ID first before revealing the company name is because imagine how you would feel if a company rang lloking for you and your mum answers and they state "company name " if it was a debt colection company and your mum recognises the name or google's it then, won't you feel embarrased or annoyed or even angry that your personal matter is now not personal and open toy our mums or anoyne elses judgement? TIP if companies ring asking for your details to ID just say if you want to confirm my details then you must have them what year was i born...... then you can proceed to confirm the rest. This will remove the chance for you revealing information to scammers and legit companies being able to ID you

I don't answer numbers I don't know or, at least, recognise. They need to leave a message and then I'll either ring them back or answer next time. However I returned just today from a holiday in Queensland so felt GUILTY not answering this Qld no. in case it was a friend at their place of employment. Do not need wallet chasers annoying the F out of me when I'm trying to de-stress. And of course, that's not even the point. Does anyone know how to report a nuisance caller? I suppose I'll just ring Telstra. Can the next commenter after me do so too please? Thanks heaps. It's the only way to disable these fools.

These people are scum, do not tell them anything, they are trying to collect debts that you have never had and cannot give you confirming information that you have. Report them immediately. The number they ring from is traced through Bribie Island, which is a wonderful spot but surely does not have scum like this living there!

This number (07) 3017 3600 have called me at 6.01pm on 17/07/15, 12.53AM!! & again at 12.58AM!!! on 2/09/15 and 11.34pm! on 22/9/15. This is nothing but harassment at such ridiculous hours. I swear if this keeps happening, I'll ensure they will feel the full force of the law. For starters, telemarketing is illegal after 8pm!!

My call (to my mobile) was similar to Natasha's; A "financial company" asking if I still lived at a certain address (moved away 6 years ago) as they are trying to contact my neighbour (gave their full name).
Said they got my number from a "page that we have".
