For all the people who have also been scammed by this. The best thing to do is go to www.19sms.com.au where you can find the company and also the contact number for this supposed subscription, and the number actually works(I've heard the one given in the text doesn't). If you don't want to look it up, the company is oxygen8 and the customer service number is 1300 366 702. Once you call their customer service you are able to unsubscribe :) in answer to some other questions, yes it does actually charge you(although may take a few days to show up if you are able to track your usage in real time). Contacting your phone provider you can get the money credited, but it may take a bit of hassling to get the money back. Ask to speak to the manager if necessary(or go into a store where they want to keep a positive image for anyone who may be considering joining their company. I suspect it'll take a little less hassling. Can't speak from experience though). Hope this helps :)

Received the same message twice now. Does anyone know if it actually charges you? Have not replied in case this starts charges? Any help appreciated.

I received a series of messages for RideMyWave last night. Exact message was:
FreeMsg:u're currently subscribed to RideMyWave and have been charged $8.99/wk on ur mobile account.Help? 1300 711 168 .Stop?SMS STOP to 19900019.HonoTechnolux SL
I sent the STOP message but also contact Optus today. The guy I spoke with made sure I hadn't been charged and has now blocked those types of numbers from being able to contact me. I'll still check my next bill to make sure I haven't been charged.

They are taking your money. I just rang Oxygen 8s Sydney number (02) 9438 6301. They tried to tell me a screen had popped up on a site and I had agreed to the terms and clicked through. I said like hell I just received a text message randomly from nowhere. Anyway I have been removed from their system. They suggested I ask telstra for premium sms block on my phone. Oxygen 8 have black listed me so my phone can't mysteriously appear again in their system. They are sending me a cheque for the money they took from me .We will see if that happens.
