this number rang me at 7.30pm, the lady on other end was very arrogant, even after telling her i wad changing a nappy she kept on talking like i hadnt said a thing.....tried ringing the number back, came up as "not connected".....

Marketing scammers, using CLI (call line identification) overstamping to make it appear from a mobile number. I'm going to report it to ACMA as its actually illegal on mobiles.

Got a call 5.45pm today. Male caller with Indian accent asking survey questions. I said I didn't have time and hung up.
Due to scam calls we no longer answer private or overseas number BUT as this was a mobile number I thought it was safe. Very sneaky using a mobile number.
I will be ringing Telstra 1800 805 996, that is the number to get up to 15 numbers blocked for free.

Got called today from this number and let it go thru to answering machine as the number was displayed. No message was left. Looked it up here and identified it as scam. Thanks, people. I will now add to growing list of blocked numbers on handset that I have called "Junk". I don't answer any unknown numbers. If it's urgent they'll leave a message.

Got a call from 0499 164 164. They said they were doing a lifestyle survey. I said I can start the survey off by telling them how many times I take a sh1te during the day. The Indian lady promptly hung up.

I have had 14 calls from same number. Same as you Fiona, when I try to call back it tells me number is not connected. I am relieved that it is probably someone I don't know, and not someone desperately trying to contact me. Did the woman say what she was calling about or did you just hang up on her?

this number had called a few times over a week. usually a quick ring then hang up. caught it quick this time. silence for 7 secs, then beep and computer/bot woman voice saying "Goodbye"

Obviously a dodgy sales call. I didn't answer it as it rang but they didn't leave a message. When I tried to call the number back it states it was disconnected.

Spam.

They are scammers. Today's version was the Telstra scam where they tell you that you have a problem with your internet. It is an attempt to gain access to your computer. These scammers are so dumb they have called me 3 times in a day and still think I'm going to believe their garbage. Don't rely on the genuine Telstra to do anything.

Received a call from 0499 164 164 at 7:10pm. Advised them I am listed on the do not call register, she responded saying that "I did not know that". I suggested that in future she should check the list BEFORE calling the number.

Have been getting calls from this mobile for the past week and a half, finally gave up and answered their very vague questions with corresponding very vague answers, hoping this will stop the calls. If not, will have to get this number barred as well - thanks for the info on the Telstra number to get specific numbers barred, will come in handy for future reference.

So rude. Bunch of wankers. Waste my time running to get the phone, waking up babies with the bloody ringing noise just to introduce themselves then hang up on me half way thru the question. Ugh
Same dude calls back and next time he hangs up on me cuz I refuse to hand over my name ( and then am likely not keen on handing over my bank details either ) poor him. What a tit.

Based on the comments here, I'm glad I didn't answer. Has been ringing us every day for the last 4 days. Calls at least 3- 4 times per day. Most of the calls are during the day so we leave it to the answering machine but doesn't leave a message.

People, when you get these calls, tell them you are unemployed, renting and nearing 65. Since doing this the calls are getting less and less.

This number has called me (3) times in (2) days.
Did'nt answer. was no message.
I thought it may have been Friends or Family callin' me.
......... too lazy or could'nt be bothered to leave a message...in their self absorbed "busy Lives "

I don't always answer the Phone coz 9 outa 10 its Phone marketing pests ( bein' polite here !)

But all worked out ! ....they were Low Grades tryin' to pester me !

0499 164 164 has rang my land line 7 times in two days. I also get daily calls from overseas callers. The worrying thing is they call me by name. How did they get my name? They are nearly always talking about solar or conducting surveys.

Have been receiving call from this number since last 2 days, sounded like a male using voice changing software, hung up when I asked reason for his call!

Best to contact your service provider and activate call trace
