TKW Research, on behalf of the Department of Health, is currently conducting the 2022 Victorian Population Health Survey (VPHS) – a mobile phone survey. The survey is conducted annually and has been running since 2001.

You may have received a voicemail saying:

“I am calling from TKW Research in Seaford on behalf of the Victorian Department of Health.

We are calling mobile phones to contact people living in Victoria, aged 18 and over, to conduct an important study about health and wellbeing issues. The results will be used for policy, planning and research purposes, to improve the health of the Victorian population.

Please call the Department on 1800 658 830 if you would like to schedule an appointment at a time that is convenient to you, otherwise we will try to call back at another time. Thank you.”

About the Survey

The Victorian Population Health Survey gives an annual assessment of the health status and wellbeing of adults living in Victoria and provides key information about the health of the population such as smoking, exercise, healthy eating and mental health.

The Survey’s findings will be used to inform evidence-based policy development and strategic planning across the Department of Health, other government departments, and the wider community.

If you decide to take part in the survey, you can choose not to answer a particular question if you do not wish to do so. You do not have to give a reason for not answering a question.

i am on the do not call register do not call means do not call. definition of do not call means do not call. wasting my time and bloody nuisance.

Caller: Someone saying they are from Department of Health

Person was asking me to do a survey, I have no idea if this is legit or who if the person is who they say they are, they coud be anybody,. My mobile phone is for my use not for advertisers or surveys to call me, I pay my bill for having a phone, I just say NO, stop ringing me, I dont answer questions from some random person calling me, nor should any of you people, you might be suprissed how much personal info a caller can get off you and about you, tell them to go away, or say NO I am not interested. Or you can just hang up, I don't like being rude, but sometimes they go on and on and last resort you just don't want to talk for 30 mins to do a survey that picked your number radomly.

Rang said from dept of health victoria, then asked what state i lived in. Hmmmmm sus

Was called three days ago from this number and in the voicemail they left I was told they'd call back.

Today I got that call back. Same number, but no voicemail was left this time.

Caller: Ashley from TKW Research

A man named Ashley claiming to be from a group on behalf of the Victorian Department of Health called up.
Not in contacts, have not put my number down anywhere for things like this.
Seems to be a real human (no weird AI inflections and had a short delay at the start of the voicemail)
Told me to call 1800 658 830 to schedule an appointment, which seems to be a real number for a real government service.

Automated message from Department of Health doing random surveys and that they’ll call back. Block the number.

I am currently undergoing treatment simultaneously for a number of unrelated health issues. I have given my private mobile number to several of these services (private and government) on the written understanding my number will be sold or traded with third parties. I now find my number in the hands of call centres such as this one. I will again trust any doctor or health authority with my private information again.

I am do not call register, but these people keep calling me on different moblie numbers. Keep blocking them, but keep calling very annoying

This number has called me more than once.. Have never answered. Researched number. Appears to be a scam number. I have now blocked

The Do Not Call register only stops unsolicited sales calls, NOT State-sponsored research. As is stated very clearly when you sign up to it.
