This is actually a real Latitude number they use to advise customers of fraud. I didn't reply to it but called Latitude separately on their 1800 number and they confirmed it. Why they send these notifications from a random mobile number is not clear and I assume it's part of their poor security practices.
Reminder that Latitude were hacked in 2023. The hackers got the applications that people completed whey applying - phone, email, address, DOB, etc. Pretty bad.

Caller: Latitude sent SMS asking me if transaction was fraudulent and 1 for yes 2 for no. I ignored. Finally they left a message asking me to call. I

Rang number on back of my card. They confirmed it was them and I confirmed transactions. Bit annoying they use some random mobile phone number.

SMS received from this number:
"Latitude would like to verify if you provided 28 Degrees card number ending in xxxx to VERIZON WRL MY ACCT VE, because $491.32 was recently declined with them. Reply 1 if yes or 2 no. "
I have a Latitude card that was recently part of a data breach. The end card numbers were accurate. I suspect they were trying to verify my phone number associated with the card. Perhaps they were checking that before trying to "port" my phone number to another device.

Caller: Latitude 28 degrees Master Card

It was a valid call following up a suspicious purchase and asking me to respond 1 or 2. I did not respond as I rang the office on their 1300 number and was told that it would have been safe to respond to the SMS as it would not cause any malware to be put on my phone.

I had text messages from this number trying to tell me my latitude card was being used. Also called me 3 times in the middle of the night from (02) 8488 4954 trying to possibly record my voice. Beware. I have blocked them now.

Notifying of fraud transactions charges on credit card. I logged into my app first and blocked my card. I then replied 2 to the messages advising I didn't recognise the transactions. Latitude also tried to call me on (02) 8488 4947, I ignored both calls. I noticed my account on my app no longer had my card attached to it. I called latitudes number listed on the back of my credit card and sure enough someone was trying to use it. Latitude is now sending out a replacement card.
