Dodged a bullet with this man, also answered my add saying he had exactly what I wanted and that a delivery driver could drop it off tomorrow but he wanted me to pay on the spot.

Put an ad on gumtree he said he’s got what I was looking for made me give him my number and persistently asking to send $500 deposit had decent pictures of what I was after but very obvious scam! Used the number 0405 205 254 also as Cody Beeston. Said he’d call the police on me as I was the scammer! Do not trust!

Put an add on gumtree asking for a car to buy. He (Peter) messaged me saying he has exactly what I need. Then says he is going into a nursing home and that he has freight coming my way and that he will put fresh rego on it and sort freight for $900 in his account first.

Told him no unless I see the vehicle in person. He laughed at me.

I posted an ad for some furniture wanted, he said he is Peter 54 years old, selling up everything going to a nursing home. He had drivers with freight going through my area tomorrow, but I need to pay it now as drivers don't take payments. pictures from some furniture looks nice, but he wants to sell me for $300. I said no payment before I see the furnitures. I even told him if he wants to sell things, it goes well on facebook, no need to sell them at once. Then he becomes angry, felt I wasted his time. He will warn everyone in Sydney (I am not in Sydney), not to selling things to me.

Little did he know, he called me a few dates earlier. I googled this number and knew there was a scammer going on on Gumtree.

I put a add up on gumtree last night looking for a rental he messaged me and said he had one for rent but he was going into a nursing home and asked for my number me think its legit I sent him my number and now his asking for a deposit before viewing the house

same as all the above complaints , hes not too bright though. Realy contradicts himself a few time during his attemted scams. Does get a little upset when he realises that hes not going to scam you and youve taken the mickey out of him

Just got scammed by this guy to the tune of 600$. Said he was 72 and going into a home with a heap of furniture for sale. Guess I should have checked first eh?
I’m on a pension and this has stung me pretty hard.

posted add on gumtree wanting a couch this guy (peter johnson) 72 year old said he had one for $450 and was moving into a nursing home so had to sell all his belongings. he said his driver was dropping things past my area and I would have to pay an extra $50 for it to be taken from bunderburg to where I live. I have contacted my bank and the police and if u get scammed by this guy contact the police too so we can find this guy.

Peter is a total scam artist! I had a post up wanting to buy a car for a project car. He wanted my phone number straight away, I gave it not knowing he was a scammer. He said he had a car, he was 72 and was moving to a retirement village. Said he had transport coming passed my way tomorrow so they could drop off on the way, I politely declined as we obviously want to view it first to ensure no engine damage, and I told him this. His reply "Yeah f*** off scammers" lol Takes one to know one! DO NOT TRUST!
