Caller: Text message for NBN appointment Well after reading these reports I was very concerned after getting an SMS for an appointment I didn’t originate. However this turns out to be 100% legitimate. Apparently the NBN assurance team conduct automated testing on the network. If there is an issue it is logged as a service fault and a tech is booked to investigate. My retailer is with Telstra and they confirmed the automated booking but only after I contacted them directly.
So here’s the issue, the LED lights on the NBN router can be covered with a slider, so you don’t see them. I discovered that the power plug had been slightly dislodged, still plugged in, but the router was off. So the WiFi modem had reverted to mobile backup and the service was maintained, so didn’t know there was a problem. Yes should have realised the modem LED had changed from usual green to blue, but hey.

Caller: Text message Received same text message as previous people. Checked my Telstra account and yes, there was an appointment. I rang Telstra - didn't have to wait too long - and yes, it's legitimate. They had noticed that my nbn was cutting in and out last week, which it was, and booked a time then apparently. Seemed strange to me that they were proactive with an nbn problem, but... Now let's see if they turn up and fix the nbn issue.

Got message from this number, firstly I did not book any service, the nbn covid link address in message does not exist (you can imagine where it takes you!), but what's more disturbing is that it is my actual address. Message as follows: Your nbn appointment to fix your service is scheduled for 2021-10-08 between 08:00 AM-12:00 PM at 'MY ADDRESS'. Please ensure an adult is present at this time.COVID-19 Govt guidelines will be followed.
