A man called to thank me for agreeing to advertise in thier mag claiming I had agreed to advertise in Nov 2017 and the mag is ready for publication and I cannot back out now. Soon followed was a call from accounts and I declined to pay and he started get a little aggressive. I then received a call from the first gentleman who reiterated that the agreement was in place and I do not have to pay immediately and that a mag and invoice would be sent to me. Well they have turned up and being suspicious of this whole set up, I googled and found this forum . Thank you all who have posted .

Scammer! These scammers tell you that you approved an ad for publishing and then charge you. Completely incorrect. They even send a reasonably impressive looking magazine with your ad. Only problem is that there are major errors which clearly indicate that the ad has never been provided to them nor proof read. In fact, they just pull the information off the net and other sources but end up with wrong logos and business details. Dead giveaway. Then they have someone call saying they are from Charles Sturt University to legitimise the publication. Almost clever if they were stupid! Here is a link to a similar scam by someone who was caught. Soon we will see this guys busted when ACCC investigate them. BE WARNED! 100% SCAM. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/media/accc-takes-magazine-publisher-to-court/news-story/0a6372c40fb3f476b831cf5c7ad27777

Previous comments are correct. These guys replicated a legitimate model of advertising that I have engaged in with other print companies. They would have known I advertised in another magazine and obtained some of my details from their. They go under the name Children's Voice and have an ABN registered under the name Star Digital. They pretend you have already approved the advertising and it has been published. When I review the advertisement it had several errors including the wrong business address. They pulled information off my website. There is no information in the magazine to identify them. There is no evidence it ever gets circulated. The other advertisers in the magazine are missing contact details so the whole magazine is a fraud. They also have people calling saying they are from Charles Sturt University and want to collect marketing materials for their students. This is another part of the scam to legitimise the publication. You cannot contact them by phone as it goes to voicemail with no message. The address they provide was used falsely by someone to try to get out of a traffic offence. On the paperwork they send they say 'This is not a bill. You are not required to send money even though they are asking for all your credit card details which they also try to take over the phone. These guys are persistent and their scam is elaborate. They are also aggressive. Be warned. THIS IS A SCAM! The phone numbers they use include: 0411 076 116 and 0478 039 167.

Absolute SCAMMERS! Children's Voice did not have consent to use our business in advertising and continued to harass the boss with calls. They got into an argument and they said they do not need written consent AS IT IS A CHARITY!

These people contacted us (New Business) and actually lied and said they were from the police magazine. So the next thing I know I have a magazine with our advert in it with NO authorisation from us!!!!! Like everyone else, I cannot get in touch with them - thank god I did not pay. Have reported it to the relevant departments and the police!

This scam is still going around people. Of all the comments I have read, I have had the exact same experience. They were starting to bully me as well. Just tell them that they are scammers, you have called the police and reported them. Hope this helps.

4 missed calls since tuesday. and I finally managed to answer the call. They also knew i had advertised in a police run mag. They also said "your advert in such and such a publication" and the price that I owed due to the publication they asked for my mailing address which I gave and also they asked for a password which I gave as my middle name

Similar situation. First it is the Police, Then Voice, then crime magazine. The lady on the phone said that I have committed to a one time ad. This is not true.

Yes sounds like a scam, they have hounded me by women called Michelle saying i had agreed to it silly me gave them my address when asked to update details. They also knew i had advertised in a police run mag. When i said i will not pay she said you will have to speak to accounts and could not get off the phone quick enough. I tried ringing back but went to a voice mail, the strange part then occurred when the number called me back 5 min later with the same voice asking if this was the phone of Amy, i said no and then I asked if it was Michelle who called me on the same number her reply was "ummmmm no" then hung up.

Said I had that I had agreed to advertise. I have recently advertised with ambulance and Fire Fighters now wondering how kosher they were

Similar to above. I agreed to post one advert in a different publication - a police magazine - several months ago. Since then I have been hounded, firstly by the police magazine to advertise again (though not through this phone number). I have had several calls about "your advert in such and such a publication" - the most recent of which came from this number 0473 788 349) today. When I said I hadn't agreed to any such thing, she hung up the phone.

A woman called Sue rang to say thank you so much for agreeing to advertise with them and asked where to send the invoice to for payment. I advised her that I never agreed to advertise in the publication and then she hung up. I believe they are scammers trying to get people to pay for advertising they never agreed to. They also called one of our other employees.
