Caller: Nancy Cole at National Crime Prevention Said she had spoken to me in October and again in December (I always keep notes because of so many of these scams) and said our ad was ready for distribution and an email with payment options and ad for approval would be sent. I mentioned that I did not remember speaking to her, and she was adamant. I said I always keep note in a pad of these calls as we had received a lot of calls saying people had spoken to us before and they had not, and that I did not have anything written down at all about this ad. I mentioned that we always asked for a confirmation email but we hadn't received one either. Same as Caz she asked for a 4 digit number or a password too. I actually asked where they had got the logo from as it wasn't from our office. Said she was going to find the recording of the phone calls and then call back. I think she knew I was onto her anyway by then.

Caller: National Crime Prevention So, I have had 3 calls this morning. The first was from Nancy 0478 711 529 who claimed she had spoken to me late October & I had agreed to an Ad which is due to be published in about 10 days time. She asked me for a 4 digit pin number, recommending DOB, but I didn't give her that. I then got a call from Elizabeth (a private phone number) saying she needed to confirm some things & it would be recorded. I told her that I cannot recall ever agreeing to this Ad, that I had agreed to another publication, but not this one. She then got Nancy to call me back (same number as her first call) & she said "oh yes, I called you late October & again in December & you agreed to it". I am supposed to get a proof sent to me via email & I am assuming then they will try to get some money, but having read this, they won't get anything out of me! I did sign up from the QLD Streetsmart Magazine which I believe, after doing some research, is genuine, but I did get scammed back in 2014 by the Police Magazine scammers. Note to self - do not advertise is something you have never heard of!

Caller: Scam classified advertising call in "charitable magazine" They all follow the same protocol, don't get done over like I have. They seem to work in cells with an ABN attached to each "publication" They say you've agreed to some advert in some arbitrary magazine with a Charitable name and you now need to pay them, seems to be around $400. It started off with me accepting one ad and then the next that followed I hadn't accepted. If they ring just HANG UP and call www.scamwatch.gov.au, if no luck here I'm going to the State Crime Command.

I have stupidly paid over 3 grand, nearly lost my marriage, My business is purely hobby orientated . Because I have memory issues I thought that I had agreed to these adverts and forgotten . CWDA , Bushfire response, Police news, street smart, (they never sent copies of magazine) ,National Emergency Services and now Feel Safe and the National Emergency Services . I have asked if I am on some list that is passed around , no answer. And yep some have 1300 numbers that go to voice mail.

Caller: Magazines I have had the same. Even paid a couple, How dumb of me!!! After doing a little bit of research I believe I too have been scammed. You may publish your add in a legitimate magazine, or you may receive an email from a university student claiming to be researching within her media course or a person claiming to be a journalist doing research. Be aware because this is how they get your information. Then the magazines start ringing stating that you have booked an ad with them a few months ago. They are relying upon you to be that busy you think "oh yeh, I probably did approve of that" when I booked the other mag (the valid one). Their websites are elaborate as is the ad they produce. All very professional, but 100% BOGAS!!!. The magazines that rang me to date have been Local Support Network, Volunteer Rescue, Crime Prevention Australia, On Duty, Street Watch. They are non contactable, if you request a copy of the magazine with your ad in it. The links they send you are elaborate They all sound like services you would like to support, but be beware these magazines are non existent. We work hard for our money and I hate the idea that these scumbags are getting away with robbing us. The more people made aware of these scumbags the better. Funny, but when I scream and go ballistic at them over the phone and abuse them verbally they hang up pretty quick.

Same as above, never authorised an add, sent a magazine with a dodgy add and phone call requesting I pay $390. Had advertised in AiPOL which is professional, assume this is where they got my details. Will not be paying and will be reporting to Police today.

Caller: Teagan from Crime Prevention Australia Just got a phone call from a very rude person called Teagan who claims that I agreed to a sponsorship for Crime Prevention Australia which we supposedly discussed over the phone at the end of July. She said I told her to ring back. I have no such affiliation with this person and she was extremely rude to say that "I wouldn't be calling you if we didn't have this conversation". This is a recurring theme with these bastard scammers. I have previously been scammed by The Local Support Network who kept ringing me every couple of days and insisted that I agreed back in February and that she had all her notes that I said to call back etc etc. Then they sent me a "proof" of the advertisement that I supposedly agreed on. Because she was pushy, I just wanted to get rid of her and I questioned myself if I did maybe agree to it before. I ended up paying $330 for it. Anyway, that was a mistake.
A few weeks later, I got another email with a proof ad, and another phone call from someone who sounds exactly like the Local Support Network woman, claiming that I agreed to an ad for the "Australian 000 Journal". The format of the email was the same, they even misspelled my name exactly the same! This is when I really dug deeper and found that these scammers have the same ABN and purporting to operate from different offices, which I investigated and found that they were all satellite offices (the one that anyone can hire by the hour as an office). They were using these addresses as their office address! I crosschecked these scam companies and they were mixing the photos around to look like they had legit offices! Beware of this ABN: 32 165 411 629. They operate a few scam companies,so please be wary of these:
Pristine Business Information Services Australian 000 Journal Local Support Network Children With Different Abilities Australians Defending Australia Workplace Hazards & Safety
They all have the same looking website so BEWARE!!! I don't know how these scumbags can sleep at night, scamming people of money while pretending they are giving community support! These people need to be put in jail!!!

I placed an add in a Streetsmart booklet I think Novemeber 2017. Anyway, Early May 2018 I get a phonecall from a mobile phone. It was a lady saying she was from some publication to do with kids and I had ordered an add with them late last year. She said I agreed to it and also told me a received a proof of the add in my POBOX and alledge I told them it was all good to go. I don't remember any of this!
Anyway, I had to give her a 4 digit number (she suggested my date of birth)- phishing? So that 'Distribution' knew it was me calling. I told him I don't remember placing this add so he arranged the lady who originally called me to call me back. She did, I asked her to email me the invoice and she agreed to it. She said if I paid now over the phone that I would get a discount, and also Jason said he could give me a further 10%. I said I can't afford it right now and to email me the invoice.
It's been 4 days now and no invoice. They're not answering on either of the mobile numbers they called me on. 0423 825 798 & 0421 616 404)>
I only decided now that it seemed really sketchy so i googled the numbers and came across all the other people they've tried to or successfully robbed.

Same Here..said i had agrred to advertise...nothing in writing just sa id 'yes' over the ph in october. And yes, i had just ageed to advertise in the police mag and i knew i hadn't committed to anything else cos we had only just opened. Wanted my address which i stupidly gave her plus a 4 digit number that i could remember...maybe a date of birth or pets name..thought was getting very odd so gave a 4 digit number that i plicked out of the air. Then she couldn't read my name on the invoice so could i spell it. I was in the supermarker so semi distracted but again i started asking questions at which point she said thank you for my support snd hung up. I rang the number back but no answer...surprisingly!!!.. thank you for all the comments. I cannot believe these scumbags....we are worjing our rings off to get up and running...we don't need parasites

Someone phoned me several times with no message left. I finally called back and said why are you phoning and not leaving a message, She said of who is this, sorry I have been busy today in meetings, didn't have time to leave a message. Yeah right. Then she said that my advertising proof was ready that I had ordered in November. I got confused thinking it was something else I donated to - the police. She also asked me to create a password - my middle name. She asked if I had a PO Box, and I said no. These people are fishing for your details to scam you and hack your information. When she said I owed over $500 I said I had already paid for the ad I ordered, and seen it in print. Oh no thats not us, we phoned you in November and we reserved your ad space. I said I did not speak to you, but feel free to send you stuff and I'll have a look at it. I then have had 5 voicemails of noone on the other line, background talking this afternoon. It seems so obvious, but unfortunately, people are getting scammed, especially people who work in business with other departments who will be convinced the company has ordered this ad. I can't stand this, what scum
