Contact you no more than three times a week or 10 times a month on the phone
Contact a third party to get location information more than twice a year
During a face-to-face meeting debt collectors must leave if you ask them to, must not conduct surveillance

"Where someone experiences distress or humiliation as a result of ongoing debt collection misconduct, they have a right to seek compensation – VCAT can order up to $10,000 in these circumstances."

These people are out of control causing misery with the way they talk to people. I'm changing my number in a few days but till then I will keep sharing Panthera finances numbers to all so when the accc and finance ombudsman intervene the proof is online with peoples experiences. This stuff they are pulling is illegal debt or not. Make them suffer many thanks

Btw to anyone feeling overwhelmed by their financial situation (& don't want to pay MyBudget $1000 to sort this sh*t out) if you have a partner, family member or trusted friend who can speak to this blood sucking vermin on your behalf, all you have to do is authorise with which ever company it is for that person to do so.
When I was in my early 20's I got myself into a lot of debt & I was hopeless at making sure things were paid on time. I found it paralysing to speak to the people chasing me for money so I asked my mum for help. I authorised for her to act on my behalf & because they had no way to pressure my mum into agreeing to payments, it got sorted in a fair and acceptable arrangement

Debt collection agencies rarely follow the tight legislation around this industry. They will go to great lengths to harass and bully people. They usually buy debts for 10% of the value of the debt. The bank right off the debt and can claim back their loss from their Trade Credit Insurance, up to 90%. So in effect, the bank now have all of their money back. Hence the high interest rate on credit cards etc.
Now the debt collectors will try to recover the whole debt, even though they have only paid 10% of the value.
Where is the regulation around this practice? Surely a debt collection agency should only be able to chase up what they paid for the debt plus any reasonable costs.
More needs to be done around these scum bags.
And I might also mention that these scum bags now have access to our personal information through Centrelink chasing up overpayments to people. That is the one issue that I'm trying to get people interested in to fight back.

My cousin has killed himself over harassment from this company. They humiliated him in front of his employer by calling them, and then rang neighbours. It is now becoming a legal matter. Anyone who can bring this to light in the media please do. They were acting on behalf of the Commonwealth Bank.

They have been harassing me for an electricity bill that doesn't exist! The company they're supposedly collecting for has no record of my 'debt' but this place still calls asking for all my details and to pay now. I've told them to stop calling but they just won't go away. Scum

Told them to come and meet me in person in a public place, I'll show them the "money" they're after, come... They don't want to play.

Was fooled by these mongrels $380. Which was a debt i did and still owe. Not sure how they find out this information...

Scamming Personal Finance group. Panthera. Honestly when was the last time a sixteen year old owed that much money on a personal loan.

Calling saying I owe money to the Alinta I do not its Panthera Fianance, my gas is currently in my name so Alinta said they would never sent to Panthera Finance for collection when I have a bill in my name for my current house.
