0458 729 725 I thought was a fraudulent number texting me.... BUT turns out it was actually paypal sending me texts each dodgy transaction!! I ignored them but I should have at least called paypal directly to confirm. I suggest calling paypal from their website and making sure it wasn't them first... if you saw my texts you would think they are fake too! I had $450 spent from my bank

Like others I have received a number of SMS saying "your security code is.... It expies in 10mins. Don't share this with anyone." Paypal would never say that. Now I get "We need to collect additional information from you. To avoid impacts to your account please log into your Paypal account and act now." Again Paypal would never say that and never threaten "impacts." Stupid stupid stupid. Straight onto the Scammer list.........

Caller: Fraudulent SMS claiming to be PayPal

I received an sms from this number claiming to be PayPal needing an update on information. They didn't include a link. I logged onto PayPal on my laptop and asked about it and was advised it was a fraudulent number that should be blocked and the number deleted.

I received 3 sms in one day from 0458 729 725.

I received 2 SMS messages from that number today claiming it was my PayPal code.
I haven't used PayPal to purchase anything for about a year.

I received this unsolicited number on my WhatsApp chat list and it will not allow me to delete it.. I have tried on a number of occasions to get rid of it but a window appears saying unable to delete. I am out of solutions.

Folks ... chill out. This IS a legitimate phone number. The text that was sent from this number IS directly linked to PayPal and I confirmed that, today, by logging onto my PayPal account. The text simply advises that a scheduled payment would be made in the coming days.

31/08/2021 this scam still running.

I can confirm - it is an automated message from paypal - for me it was a reminder for an upcoming payment which I had actually forgotten about. When into my account and it was correct.

I don't have Paypal & message came through at 2:30am from this number to 'verify security code'.

Its a scam....

I just this same number to pay $300 through PayPal
