Trying to sell you vacation packages. Recommend blocking this number if they call you.

Call me numerous times everyday. When i answer it disconnects and when i call back it says it has been disconnected. I don't know how they even got my number. I am so sick of beign harassed by these companies / fraudsters. I also keep getting calls from African countries - unsure if it is connected, probably a company I use got hacked and didn't tell their customers.

Keeps calling approx. 3 times a day for last 3 days, doesn't leave a message. Decided to look up the number on here, oh look, Wyndham Resorts, again! These guys never give up. They need to be reported. I have now blocked about 4 different numbers from Wyndham resorts, and I will NEVER book a holiday with them because of their business ethics.

Wyndam Resorts - they tried to tell me I won a gift card and a travel voucher. Its a hoax to get information out of you, I answered them all untruthfully to see where it was going, and it went nowhere as per usual. I just hung up. Don't waste your time, tell them to stop calling you.

The Do Not Call Register works "if" (a) the phone number is a genuine Australian number that comes via the telephone exchange; and (b) when it is a genuine number but the call is unsolicited and you are on the DNC Register then the next step to take is complete the basic online complaint form at the website for ACMA which has responsibility for enforcing the DNC Register Act (2006). Any lawful registered business (i.e. has ABN or ACN) that ignores the numbers listed on the DNC Register and that engages in making unsolicited calls (which are not exempted under the ACT) will be investigated and warned on a first reported offence. If the unsolicited calls continue then serious penalties will be applied. However, if the phone number (as many others on this bulletin board state) cannot be redialled then the caller is most likely using VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) technology which by-passes the phone exchange and comes via the Internet. VOIP technology operates with "packet loss" so when you answer the phone there is a distinct gap between speaking and being heard and answered - that is a clear indicator that VOIP is being used. ACMA and the phone companies cannot control the use of VOIP generated calls particularly those that come from outside Australia. To file a helpful complaint with ACMA you should take a note of the phone number, the precise times and dates of the call. The more information you can supply the greater the possibility of an investigation happening. If we are all agreed that these VOIP calls are unwarranted then contact your local federal MP, as well as the Federal Minister for Communications, urging for legal and technological action to be taken against the scam call centres that are overseas. The US chased down one notorious character behind the IRS tax scam who was in India - this requires co-operation between law enforcement agencies here and overseas. The other piece of advice is when you hear the caller say "This is X from A, how are you?" do not be taken off-guard. In 99% of these cases, they never ask to speak to someone by name but hedge their bets that you will disclose your details which they will then incorporate into their patter. Cut them off and do not say "I am good thanks". Instead, take them by surprise by demanding "what is the name of the person you are calling, whom do you wish to speak to?" Another approach is to take charge of the call and say "in making this phone call you are trying to sign me up to an unsolicited consumer agreement, which immediately makes you accountable under consumer protection law, contract law and this unsolicited call violates federal telecommunication law. Your call is a form of harassment and as soon as I hang up this phone I will be instructing my solicitor to pursue you and your company in a lawsuit." That line often scares off these jokers.
