i got a call regarding a what could only be a statutory barred debt from an overseas call centre saying they were impact financial services. They appear to be debt collection bottom feeders who have purchased a worthless debt portfolio of debts that have not been acknowledged for more than six years, so they probably pay 1 or 2 cents in the dollar for it, and try to collect for a massive profit. The debts are statutory barred, and cannot be collected upon and there is a likely risk there are breaches of the law in attempting to do so.

Scam. They claimed I owed a debt to Energy Australia even though I have never held an electricity account. I have reported them to the ACCC and encourage everyone else to do the same: https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam

Impact Financial Services - overseas call centre rings and if you DO answer, they seem to put the call back to your native country!! They've been calling my workplace, but we all see the number now and don't disclose our name upon answering. The cowards then hang up. Never leave messages, then send debit collecting letters to say I've ignored their attempts to contact me - bit hard to reply/respond to unidentified ppl. Taken them and their company of engagement to the ACCC. Don't like bullying tactics

He said his name was John - sounded Asian. He new the previous place I worked. Wanted to ID me by me providing info - I would not. He said he was from Impact Financial Services...very evasive. I do not have any debts outstanding that are being collected! I do not trust them.

Curious, I've only had my current number for a short time and it's not listed - paid for this option. How have Impact Financial Services gotten my details? Ive had debts run up by an ex in my name (lived with him and he didn't pay his share of bills so landed me in debt) but those have since been cleared. I've also got my (crappy) windows phone set so that numbers I dont' have stored cannot get throuhg but these guys manage to do so still. How is this happening? I think it's a massive scam tbh.
