Caller: Its Credit Corp Some hints when dealing with Credit Corp
Under the act they can only ring you 10 times in a 1 month window or 3 times per week until they hit the 10 for the month. Hang up calls and goes to message bank counts, they dial 10 times and the 11th is an offence against our legislation. There call centre is in Cebu Philipines. Do not under any circumstances ever acknowledge a debt they are chasing, this is where the legal fun stuff comes into it. If you enter into a payment agreement with any of these scumbag companies you may not be helping yourself. If you do then the clock on your credit report resets - ie if you make a payment after its been listed 3 years ago you reset the clock and it stays on your listing for 5 years, this isnt the end. At the 6 year make they do not have any further legal recourse in Aust. If you pay it out it still stays on your file and for another 5 years so why negotiate. Under our credit laws if the loan was unsecured or even secured and the vehicle or property was surrendered or re-possessed they cannot pursue you through garnish of pay unless they get a summary judgement which costs them money. Remember they bought your debt for cents on the dollar from Telsta, Westpac or who the f*ck ever so its no real cost to them and a big win if you do pay up, dont play their game and be smarter than them. One more bit of advice, do take their calls every year or so, be negative, provide a date of birth only and make them tell you an address and you confirm the postcode only. Do not admit to the debt and once they confirm who you are hang up. By allowing the contact on a regular basis they cant say you are not able to be tracked down so they cant run off to court for a summary judgement :) Happy toying with them everyone
