Got a text message today (25072024) from Target saying:
"Your parcel is coming today. Not home? Reply Y and we'll leave it in a safe place. Track AusPost website or app. no. 34AJA161227201000935002".
I haven't ordered anything from Target so this is obviously a scam. Don't go to the link.

Had response from this number after replying to AusPost SMS advising of parcel delivery
However, speaking with IT trouble shooting tech, there are computer programs designed to generate random numbers to make it appear contact is genuine
Please think before clicking any link

When I got the SMS 02/07/2024 straight away thought it was a scam, so I ignored and deleted. Turn out it was legit a parcel turned up that morning.

I agree with people who think Australia Post website has been hacked. For years. Inside or outside job, I don’t know. And AP has done Nothing about it!
Since, like others commenting, I often get SMS pretending to be from AP. When I’m expecting parcel. But it’s not from AP.
Some comments here claim they actually got Aus Post delivery after SMS from this number. I suspect that’s because AP website is hacked. Them actually receiving a parcel doesn’t negate this isn’t Scam SMS.
I got SMS this morning 8.31AM 2 July 2024 about delivery to my home address.
Problem is I expect 2 deliveries. But none to my home address. Both going direct to Post Office for pickup. Senders haven’t notified parcels are at PO. Neither has Australia Post notified me to collect.
This is Scam SMS:
“Your FOR RETURN ONLY parcel is coming today.
Not home? Reply Y and we'll leave it in a safe place.
Track: AusPost website or app, no. 36K4V504489601000935006”

Looks like Auspost has a leak in their system getting customers live delivery data. The scammy version of the SMS looks downright suspicious (URL mypo. st and only 1 choice "Y"). For reference the correct one is shown on AusPost website "Text my choice page" (URL auspost.com.au and 3 choices "1, 2 or 3"). Spoofed from same number AusPost uses which is listed on AusPost website.

Dodgy text claiming a parcel coming today. Whilst I am expecting an item a quick check of the legit tracking system does not confirm a delivery today.

I wrongly determined that this number was a scam and reported it as such this morning. However, a parcel arrived just now from the sender included in the SMS message thought to be a scam. Looks like I was wrong? Now I'm just confused as to what is a scam! See Report from "Lazza" , of August 8, above which seems to be correct.

Received SMS from this number, allegedly from Auspost, asking me to reply Y if I want parcel left if delivery person finds no-one home. It's a scam according to Australia Post website https://auspost.com.au/about-us/about-our-site/online-security-scams-fraud/scam-alerts

StarTrack is owned by Australia Post but the links to mypo.st/ IS NOT OWNED BY AUSTRALIA POST AND IS AN OFFSHORE DOMAIN AND NOT SECURE!

https://mypo.st is officially used by AusPost. It's an example of a TinyURL which is a web service used to shorten long URLs. I received an SMS asking me to respond with a 'Y' or 'N' if I wanted my package left if no one was home. I first checked the tracking ID via email and the delivery date matched. I clicked on the URL in the SMS and it took me to AusPost and the correct Tracking number.

Received an SMS asking for a Y or N reply if I wanted a parcel I'm expecting to be left unattended at my premises if I'm not home to accept delivery. Suspicious, so I googled the number & decided it was legit & replied Y - did not click on the link in the message, just sent an SMS back. After coming here & seeing comments about it being a scam, I checked my tracking number via the Star Track website & my delivery details had been updated at the time I replied to the SMS to say I gave authority for my parcel to be left unattended if I wasn't home - therefore, in my case, this was definitely a legit SMS.

The number is legitimately Australia Post, however scammers are sending SMS pretending to be from the number to mobile phones.
The SMS will try and direct you to a fake site, that is similar to the real Aus Post site, check the link for extra "."
For example, the link currently going around is my.po.st , the link is underlined to try and hide the "."'s
Never click on a link from an SMS, and never enter your username and password from a link, or any billing details

They may be aware that you are having a delivery from somewhere, they may have a link to something that tells them, then they send you the fake link. Mine says to go pick up with ID as I replied Y to late - it gives me no details on where to pick it up and I am not clicking the link

have to eat my words because I just received a parcel that was sent by a friend so looks like AusPost e-mail message and phone text from 0448 008 003 were legit although will still be very weary and not click on anything either on the phone or the e-mail
Do you have a comment about Enterprise or 0448 008 003?

I think this is a scam call. I received a text supposedly from Auspost saying my delivery was coming today Click Y to leave it in a safe place. I am usually very "on the ball" with these but just saw it while I was very busy and just clicked "Y", then thought it was very dodgy. I clicked "Y" because I am expecting a parcel, but my 'spidey senses' tell me this is dodgy. On checking on here I see that this is indeed a scam please don't click any links for this number.
