Legit / genuine number.
This number is an automated text from Star Track who is partnered with Aust Post. It's a delivery text message. It's about a parcel being delivered to your address today.
It asks for a choice (1, 2, or 3) 1= Leave at your address (if there is a safe place) & accept T&C's. 2 = Someone will be home. 3 = Take to Post Office if not home.

Had a genuine parcel delivered within hours of text.

text message received from 0448 008 003 saying "your item is coming today. Nobody home? Reply Y and we'll leave it at your address if theres a safe place. Tracking details: " and gives a link to click. I am waiting on a parcel, but this text looks dodgy. If it is legit (like some of the comments on this page suggest) they need to include who the message is from.

Caller: SCAMMERS Pretending to be AUSPOST
I'm actually impressed. These folks have managed to spoof the correct phone number for aus post... or they have a webpage set up to spoof aus post. ALL of the links in their message are invalid, as in, they will take you to the scam connection. Any time you see they are trying to get you to a link that is not AUSPOST.COM.AU, it's a scam. On computers, rest the cursor over the link to see what the encoding actually is. On SMS messages and computer messages, do NOT click on the link without knowing exactly where it is taking you. It's a scam.... knowledge is YOUR weapon against these people since it's obvious the government is doing nothing about it. Don't let them suck you in.

Although the link provided looks like spam but it's not. Legit message from Aust post. Replied 2 (someone will be home) and got my parcel within couple of hours.

Just went to Australia Post and they confirmed it's a scam. The people behind the counter said even they are receiving many of them especially over the past few days

I've had one of these scam sms messages on the day of delivery EVERY time an Australia Post delivery is due. The scammers must be linked into the system permanently. The sms always gives part of the name of the company I've bought from and it always asks me to reply 'Y' if it's ok to leave my parcel if no-one is home. Then I get another sms from the real Australia post saying if no-one is home my parcel will be taken to the local post office. Confusing ...but I'm now blocking 0448 008 003

Caller: A text from the number above.
I was texted this same message and came to this site. I've just taken delivery of what I ordered, and was worried all morning because of people saying it was a scam. It's not. I even know the guy -- he's our regular parcel deliverer!
So to all you alarmists, you are wrong. And to anyone who gets one of these. your parcel is coming. And to those who went to the PO, they got it wrong too. We've had this courier for over two years.

I got an SMS with a mypo.st link. I didn't follow the exact link but a visit to the home page satisfied me that it's *not* an Australia Post address.

Caller: SMS - providing Australia Post parcel tracking information
Message says that I have a parcel coming from Spotlight (Tasmania) and will be delivered to my home address: St Leonards, Launceston (Tas).
Only problem is I don't live and have never lived in Tasmania.
SCAM alert triggered and I did not respond at all. Be vigilant people!!!

This number has been texting me as ‘AusPost’ for the past two weeks, and now it’s getting to a point it’s almost two texts a day. I’ve already blocked one number and now this one started. Apparently I keep buying from Deals Direct and Mysale when no such thing has occurred
