I just got the same text, and it is legitimate. I googled the phone number & landed on this page so then phoned Commonwealth Bank who confirmed that it is genuine - someone was trying to make an unauthorised withdrawal from my Credit Card account 20 minutes ago in another part of the state. Bank have now stopped the transaction from being processed, blocked the account & will reissue a new card in the coming days.

This is a GENUINE MESSAGE from Commonwealth Bank. My card had been compromised and they alerted me through this number. Best not ignore it!

I received a text checking whether I had attempted a particular purchase. I was initially sceptical so called the Commonwealth Bank directly. Turns out someone was trying to use my credit card and the number is genuinely from the Bank's fraud team. My card has now been cancelled and a new one is on it's way to me. Joke's on the fraudster - he got greedy and tried to put through a transaction larger than my credit limit so it was declined anyway.

I got a similar message via text this morning and just checked with Commonwealth Bank. IT WAS COMMONWEALTH BANK TEXTING ME. Seems someone has been trying to purchase booze and gambling on my credit card.

This is a TRUE message and do not ignore it. When you see that go to your online account immediately and check recent transaction records! I just checked that someone spent almost 500 dollars in the past few hours. So make sure you take actions if you see this message!

Commonwealth bank sent a text asking if I had attempted a transaction with uber in the US. They then sent a second text telling me it was important to answer YES or NO to previous text. I thought this was a scam, replied with unsavory language and reported it to scamwatch.gov.au. I checked netbank and there were fraudulent uber transactions pending against my account. I contacted Commonwealth directly (number listed on my bank card) and they put me through to the department that sent the text. This is a legitimate number (though contact through Commonwealth to be sure.)

Guys this is a legit message to confirm activity! You can always call the bank to confirm instead of just telling people it is a scam without actually knowing !!

Purports to be from the commonwealth bank asking if I authorised a payment to napster Austria. Let's face it, the bank would call for something like this. Not use an unidentified number. I'm ignoring it.

Received 2 messages and 1 phone call this morning. Checked with Commonwealth Bank (13 2221) and they confirmed this is a legitimate phone no. from their security department. Someone attempted to use my credit card for a $124 transaction. The transaction has been declined and Commonwealth Bank is going to replace my credit card with a new one.

Text message claiming to be from Commonwealth Bank, asking to verify a transaction. Followed by 2 phone calls from (02) 8070 2202 claiming to be Commonwealth Bank fraud squad. I hung up and rang the CBA. Don't go along with it. Probable scam.
