SUSPECT SCAM - Text from this number asked me to call Brisbane Day Surgery to give them my credit card details, so I could receive a refund. I had been there so my data may have been hacked. The number to ring was genuine, but the link in the message probably went somewhere else.

Nothing on this number is legitimate. It carries the most puerile, dumbest scams a mentally deficient five year old could invent. Even my dog barks at me for answering this clown.

SMS from this number to supply full name for customs clearance on Amazon purchase from US. Checked Amazon order and message on Amazon site that parcel pending release from Government agency. Sounds legitimate.

I received a legitimate SMS from this number confirming a dental appointment for tomorrow It looks like the bad guys are pretending to use this number, so blocking may lead to missed legitimate reminders like mine.

Caller: SCAM I received a very specific message for me to place my rubbish bins in a certain location tomorrow. Then a business name at the end which I have no affiliation with. I called the business (A Real Estate Agency), and informed them (as they are Australia wide), who said they would alert their IT professionals immediately. As this is not standard practice. ***SCAM LOGGED & REPORTED***

Caller: UPS While it does sound dodgy these UPS txts are not a scam. UPS are a registered brokerage company to receive and pass on customs duty payments. If you ignore the txt or reply requesting further info you will receive a call from UPS requesting you call the Australian UPS phone number 131877 to make payment of Australians customs duty owing. If in doubt call the number (which is listed on their Australian and USA websites) and request confirmation.
If you ignore payment you will eventually receive a letter from Australia Border Force requesting you complete a customs duty declaration form and then payment- a process that can take several weeks.

Caller: UPS Not a scam. UPS are a registered brokerage company for Australia Customs (Border Force). In spite of denying sending these type of txt's on the UPS website these txt's are from UPS. If you do nothing or reply to the txt requesting clarification a UPS rep from USA will call you back and request you call the Aussie UPS phone number (131877) to make payment of your Customs fees (Select option 4 during the call). A rep will clarify your tracking number and duty applicable (which you can find out prior by using the duty calculator on the Australian Borderforce website at: https://www.abf.gov.au/)
In short, Yes these txts are authentic but if in doubt call UPS in Australia.

Received a text message from this number after missing a call saying I had to deposit money into a BPAY account as I had import fees from my UPS package. The tracking number they provided was correct. 100% a scam as UPS do not have import fees.

Caller: UPS Got a missed call and went straight to voicemail. Also got a text stating I need to pay tax and etc. Same BSB and account as other mentioned. Quite odd as my shipping reference was exactly the same number as they said in the SMS. Clearly there is an insider in UPS leaking the tracking details or UPS logistic website is compromised.
