Caller: Consumer Products Australia

They claim to be a market research company and want to be supplied with your email address so that they make further contact. The spiel is that they want you to review products for free supplied by third parties. I was called twice on 22 October. I told the first caller that they were in breach of the Do Not Call Register Act 2006. I told them to immediately delete me from their database. I told them I did not agree to supplying my email, I did not want any offers posted nor any further phone calls. I further indicated that if they phoned again that I would launch legal proceedings against the company. 5 hrs later I received a second call. I repeated the same warnings and when I said "are you now ready for a lawsuit" there was silence and then they hung up. I immediately completed a complaint form with all details (phone numbers, time, date and summary of calls) online with ACMA via the Do Not Call Register website (see complaints on the form to complete). On the second call I also indicated that they were engaged in telecommunication harrassment which carries severe legal penalties. The second call came from phone number 0489 001 194.
