Stupidity and arrogance of NSW police is overbearing, literraly. That is, why they think they can smash your head with rods, for your health of course.

It seems to be a government number however the government is retarded if they expect people to click on bit.ly domains in unsolicited messages.

It is the actual police mate. It's a public service announcement that might one day also help you or your loved ones.

SMS from them proporting to be police. With a bit.ly shortened URL. I don't trust in the slightest. Quacks like a scam trying to infect mobiles.

This is the maitland NSW police force invading my privacy to help them when they had me locked up in maitland mental health where i was assaulted by a nurse. They then failed to investigate the matter, i reported to their minister and they claimed theyd re open the investigation. The rest of the story is history....Don't come asking for my help...your corrupt

Do a Google search, it's legitimately Australia's Emergency Alert number.

Received a SMS from 0444 444 444 to check a site concerning Covid-19 exposures. Thought it could be a scam or phishing but turned out to be a genuine alert from the Victorian government.

Says 16 year old missing. But search didn't show it as a government number. Can a.someone advise where is this listed as a government number?

With the amount of nuisance callers and scammers that annoy us why can they not advise on the caller screen that it is Emergency / SOS
unfortunately if the Government would push harsh penalties on these scammers maybe we wouldn't be so harsh on actual true text it annoys me that
as soon as I hear an asian , indian etc or foreigner overseas call centres but I think they're also here too in our country I instantly go into defensive /offensive
mode which sounds racist but to be honest to the rest not to be unfair but even some of these I have problems understanding what happen that are just doing their job and for the call centres yes its their job too but I'd like to be able to plague them eith these calls as much as they do me, the unfortunate part of this calls like this one are ignored due these nuisance call centres we're also registered under Do Not Call but our information still gets to them our only saviour is to block these numbers as they appear which only works for a brief moment till they call back from another number Pauline Hansson had the idea of identifying these with 666 as stupid as it sounds it would be good to be able to directly identify these callers I've noticed that now some of my calls are coming up with Potential Fraud unfortunately not always correct though
