Got a text informing me of a jobs fair with a legitimate link. I had previously received texts regarding appointments at a radiology clinic which I know 100% was legitimate. Going off what other people have said I suspect the text was sent by my job service provider using a messaging service that was also used by the radiology clinic.

It’s a pool number from the company Whispir who is a messaging service provider. Lots of major clients which is why it could be from anyone.

Caller: Automated SMS on behalf of different Jobactive providers This appears to be a messaging service used by various companies and organisations including RACQ/RACV, Red Cross, Salvation Army, MAX Employment. All messages received by me from this number so far have been in relation to appointments with Jobactive providers and useless (but legitimate) job ads said providers subscribed me to.
Do not automatically assume it is a scam. It is possible for scammers to make use of a service like this but there is a decent chance it is a legit message. It is certainly a little frustrating that spam and scams can come from the same number that legitimate companies use - as it can be unwise to outright block the number. But there are ways to protect yourself regardless.
If it doesn't give you any links to follow or numbers to call, it is unlikely to be a scam. Scammers want to trick you into giving them information. If they don't give you a way to contact them, they're not able to scam you. If it does, and it's a company you recognise, use google to find their official website and contact details yourself and use them to contact the company and verify the SMS.
Jobactive providers will sign you up for job ads that may be sent via this service. That's why they have your details even if you've never heard of them.
