asian / indian said he was from telstra to offer a better deal on my phone , BUT mine is a pre paid , so how did he get this , are there people within the telstra organization giving or selling our information

Was offering me a really good Telstra deal so needed to know my name etc. He gave me a fake telstra employee number because when I read it back to him I mixed some numbers up and he said it was correct. I asked to speak to his boss(Oscar) who said he was calling from 400 Georges St Sydney NSW. He knew what NSW stood for but couldn't tell me what floor he was on or what the weather was like. Strange that both Oscar and Barry had very Asian accents so I doubt they were using their real names.

Caller: SMS

Received text supposedly from Telstra saying that international roaming had been switched on, etc. and gave this number as a contact (0439 125 109). Seems like a phishing attempt to get me to call them.

BE WARNED! the scam is getting more and more sophisticated. Chinese guy called and spoke to my mum saying that he was from Telstra and that my mum's details had been registered to a number (that was not her's) and that there had been a nuisance complaint against that number. He was very polite, and was not pushy. Did not ask for any personal details but asked questions like "did this number belong to (my mum's name)? Was my mum in (this location) on this date?" When my mum asked what he wanted from her, he said "nothing" and that he would "escalate" to his manager. I believe he was setting her up for questions about her personal details later. He spoke in Mandarin and heavily accented English. He gave a fake Telstra department and employee number. Unfortunately my mum was taken in and thought it was real/it might be real until I called the real Telstra number and confirmed that his department doesn't exist, his employee number was fake, and there were no employees with his name (Fang) at all.

phoned me twice now offering 40% discount on Telstra, had some of my details but was asking to confirm DOB and address. Don't tell them anything

Telstra then tells you to log into your account to instant message them and then EVERY time you change screen (because you have to navigate the website) it logs you out so you have to log back in again. They can't get the simple things right

Caller: Indian from vodafone

Said that due to covid19 I get a 50% discount off my bill, asked for my pin number. I said I don't give that out unless I made the call for security purposes. He got a bit grumpy an di said ill call back and ask to be put to billing and he said he was from billing. I hung up

Indian man claims to be Vodafone offering a deal for my current number!

I am not a Vodafone customer....

His line is crackling and you could hardly hear him.

Said she was from Telstra billing department and offering me a large discount. My number is part of a company with a large business plan and a dedicated Telstra manager who deals with someone completely different I told her it’s a scam and she hung up

Said she was from Telstra and as a loyal customer I’m eligible for 40% discount

She rang me initially from a land line (02) 9387 7008 - and I told her to email me. She rang back today to ask if I have received my email? I said no and I search her number and took me to this site and I read this site to her she then hang up on me! Wonder!

i started asking polite questions and she hung up
they do not usually know they are a scam caller as they are just offered a job, they think it is legit but ... BUT ,this one did.
