I also answered this number when they called and there was silence and when I attempted to call back, Optus advised me that the number has been disconnected. Shifty and suspicious!

Telemarketers - Fairchild group - Block

Another spam call, tells you that you have 'won' an Android tablet and asks if you can attend some seminar.

I answered this call and no one talked at other end. I attempted to ring back and Optus advised phone number disconnected. I have now blocked this number.

You are 100% correct!! The exact same phone call happened to me not just 5 minutes ago! I got suspicious when the lady on the phone told me I entered some sort of online competition for a $500 Woolworths voucher or a Android tablet a couple of weeks ago, as I never enter competitions. I quickly told her that I wasn't interested and she was happy enough to end the call with a "Sorry we couldn't help you today", she wasn't pushy.

Keeps calling - doesn't leave a message - ring back and get the same message as others from Optus advising number disconnected. Pain in the butt :(

I've been getting calls from this number every day for a week now.

Each time I answer there is nothing but silence and then they hang up.

When I try to call back it says that the number has been disconnected.

I have worked for a call centre a few years ago and I know this is a classic trick to make you call back so that they can answer and charge you for the time you are on the call - this is why they stay silent to make the call go for longer than it should.

Word of advise - block this number

BLOCKED. next...

They claimed I'd win an android tablet and dinner for 2 just for attending a seminar, asked income, if I had a mortgage, they had my full name already!!!! Then the abruptly hung up... called back and it said the number had been disconnected, I'd say they've recorded that off something else and still have the number... might go to the police

Yep, thank you for commenting they call, don't leave a message. There are just too many of these fake mobile numbers calling none stop!

We too have been getting missed calls from this number and yes if we call back it's disconnected. Annoying

There are quite a few random mobile numbers that I have checked through here - and I also don't answer - I ring back and you are advised that the number is disconnected. I just block the numbers - I know who I give my number too!

Calls but does not leave a message. So sick of all the numbers I now have to block because they are nusiance calls.

Answered a call on my landline today from this number. Telemarketing; Sheffield Pacific - advising I had won an android tablet in a competition that I could pick up if I attended a talk on mortgage, tax and retirement. Also included dinner! Beware they ask for lots of details.

Had a missed call from this number. Called back and got an optus message saying the number has been disconnected. Also received two calls from other numbers with '687' as the middle three digits and it is a telemarketer trying to sell seats to some talk.
