Caller: St George (also Westpac) Fraud squad sent a text message Caller: St George
It is definitely real. I also got the text msg about a card that I use regularly, used for an online purchase I had not made. I replied “no”, instant reply stated that a fraud investigator will contact me in the next 60 minutes, I also deliberately didn’t answer the call when the did ring and was left a voice mail where they stated they were from st george, my full name and asked me to contact them on the number on the back of my card. If they were not real they would not want you to ring the number on the back of the card. The fraud squad had blocked that transaction and put a temporary block on my card until I contacted them and confirmed that I wanted it replaced. Bottom line is that there was fraudulent activity - it was stopped in its tracks - and the card has been cancelled so you can trust this number. Great work St George!!

Hi I got a text sayng card had been used and to conform yes or no? Called Westpac on 132032 and text was real. Someone had tested my card with a $10 purchase first before trying to buy a scooter at Scooter Hut Melbourne for $1125. I would never have checked for the $10 transaction. So call your bank if you get the text.

I got this test advising of fraudulent activity and that someone from Westpac would be calling me within the hour. I googled the number and came across this site. Decided to call Westpac - got out through to their fraud division. Was legitimate - a slight difference with the amount being fraudulently charged but all checked out. If in doubt, call your bank.

Caller: Bank of Melbourne / St George Bank This was a legitimate text message, but I did make contact with their fraudulent SMS message to 0457 114 629 (0457 11 HOAX) and they called me back straight away. It turned out that my visa card had been hacked and that they had attempted the transactions on a number of occasions so my card has been cancelled and they will send out a new card. Definitely not a scam at all and I am so grateful of their diligence in reporting it
