Caller: 0429 033 147 Received a spam text message from The Good Guys. Cannot reply to original as the number attached is from Vietnam but the text message itself has a number to text with STOP, that number is 0429 033 147. I'm advised that the good guys use an external marketing company that basically spams numbers with marketing material, which places a buffer between the marketing company and the good guys. Additionally, this marketing company used is know to spam, get into trouble for it, then change company names and do it all again.

Upon answer a recorded female voice message played. Language sounded Chinese. An hour or two prior to this I had received a SMS message from the Good Guys (in English).
This is the second time in several weeks I have received a Chinese voice message even though I am an Anglo-Celtic Australian

Hi, I've reported this matter previously on here. However, the important information everyone needs to know is that IT IS NOT The Good Guys messing around. It is a total Scam. In my opinion, The Good Guys are getting a roasting. Primarily because those who receive the SMS are told that if the recipient wants to be able to get big deals of 10% OFF a huge range Online until date/day/yr they should click on tgg.com.au/home (which is in blue font - making it look as if it was a link. You obviously don’t want to do that anyway.
On the other hand if the recipient wants to STOP receiving SMS from "The Good Guys" you have to send the STOP to a mobile number 0429 033 147.
It seems as though the majority of people who have referred this mobile number to Reverse Australia believe it’s actually The Good Guys messing around with a marketing ploy. I suggest you look up The Good Guys website via https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/scam-alerts#good-guys-mobiles - where they are quite clear that there are people out there creating these scam. So please go to their site before you decide they are at the bottom of this scam and rightfully agree there's another scammer doing their best to waste our time and energy to get rid of them.

Caller: It was an SMS supposedly from The Good Guys! My contact was via 0429 033 147 with the same useless way of trying to say 'STOP'. Hence my reason for reading your many comments. Thank you all for entering your comments. What I can now do is to add the fact that The Good Guys have actually recognised the issue of spams and have a specific link to what they and we can do about it. This is the link. It's worth going to https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/scam-alerts - It's not a link to a scam it's my authentic link to them. Good luck to any more ongoing readers.

Caller: 0429 033 147 JB-HIFi trading as The Good Guys trying to sell $80 of store credit for $500? Ridiculous. Obviously using the good guys name as it seems to be more trusted than their JB HIFi parent company.

Caller: SMS from TheGoodGuys Door Buster Deals now On at The Good Guys. PLUS today only get 10% off a huge range in store, online or call 1300 942 765. Exclusions apply. See all the deals at tgg.com.au/home. Text STOP to 0429 033 147 to opt out.
Sender doesn't support replies. Google messages client on Android does not provide ability to send to Spam and blocked.
Given this has been ongoing for 5+ years, you would expect the Good Guys (now owned by JB HIFI) would have these scam campaigns informed on their website.

Caller: Scam text from 0429 033 147 No, it's not the Good Guys, or anyone legit. Texting STOP just lets them know they can send more scam texts to your phone. They know that people will text STOP without thinking or looking closely at the txt. You should never, ever respond in any way to these sorts of scam text messages. Just delete. If you can block it via your telco, that's good too :)
