We just had him contact us as we were selling a bike on Gumtree. He said his name was Damion Demolder from Darwin.He sent the Pay Pal letter to deposit $950 For Shipping cost and even rang me to see why i didn't put the money in. My husband got on the phone and told him it was a scam. Becareful!!!

March 14th 2013 - looks like he is still at it. I got an SMS this morning much the same as a the ones above. Wanted me to email a firm price for my BMW. Gave a gmail address. Asked me to email him as his phone was "scrambled" - how did he send the TXT then? LOL
The cops should be able to hunt this prick down.

Scam for sure. Tried to get our 5th wheeler which we posted on firstnetrader. He asked " what is the present condition and final price of you listing" and wanted to deal with an email address. Scum.

Same for me - two separate SMS's from two separate names with 2 completly different stories but SON/Darwin Uni was one and Working on a Boat from bermuda another, but from the same phone number 0428 465 117.

I also received a call at 1AM in the morning although not sure its related....

Always wanted to pay via paypal... what's the scam then - they scam paypal or trick you into paying them?

Same story as above.. Low life piece of sh*t trying to scam hard working people! I have had at least 15 scam attempts like this one through gumtree, eBay, Facebook.. Beware!!

Replied back told him to f*ck off, then got an email telling me he is buying our car for his son is Darwin since he is in Charles Darwin university... Blah blah

SMS about purchasing my van off Gumtree. GMail address, wanted and email reply. Please I googled the phone number. Gumtree need to tighten security like carsales.

This number is a scam. They wanted to buy our motor home for the son that goes to Charles Darwin Uni NT. They say they have an ANZ account linked to their Pay Pal. They requested Bank Details or Pay Pal payment details. They will arrange for their agent to pick up the motor home.Wonder how many Victims they are actually getting. Stay safe.

He is at it again trying to buy dome chairs from me and wants me to send money to china yo his pick up agent, really how stupid does he think people are? Long way to come pick up some chairs. Karma bites back

just got a call from a guy names "david" enquiring about our car for sale - thanks for you comments guys I will know who I am dealing with now. text me but asked me to reply by email!

Scammer Claiming to be "Patrick" Offering to buy my car, oil rigs, etc.. Once you tell them Cash only they give up pretty quick.

Scammer using similar story as reported by Luke & Glenn. Someone give me a address & who ever will receive a parcel of pain !!!

Scammer. Responded to my ad to sell my motorbike on Gumtree.
Pretty lazy now as the msg didn't even specifically ask about a bike.
