I got a text from this number as Red Energy asking for my gas meter number. They had my name too, although the wrong spelling of it made me suspicious.

I have no 7 day passes for anything. I'm not a member of anything. Scam! I continually block this caller only to be sent a sms from them on a different number.
Their message says you can opt out by messaging them back.
Is this a scam where they receive a payment from the telco for your return message?
