Caller: ANZ I thought it might be suss then noticed I had a call from the same number in 2021 regarding my previous Credit Card which had been compromised. I replied 2 which is a no but I rang the number on the back of my card anyway. They confirmed that a $1000 transaction for Google Ads had been attempted and they had put a temporary block on my card. Now it has been cancelled and while I wait for a new card I'm making a list of all of the bodies I need to contact to advise them that I have a new card and all of the online places I purchase from (I think I'll just do them as I reuse them.)

From ANZ: We've noticed unusual activity on your card ending 4004. For your security, we've temporarily blocked your card. Please confirm whether you authorised this transaction, which we've declined: $250.00 to SP CULTURE KINGS on 5/11. Reply 1 if YES or 2 if NO. Definitely a scam. Confirmed with ANZ. Don’t ever respond to text message claiming to be a bank. Most of the comments on this numbers are scammers and trying to make it legit. Be careful. In doubt call the customer service or visit a branch

We contacted our ANZ bank branch and they confirmed that these text randomly happen to help prevent fraudulent activity on accounts, I would have been nice to have know this prior to receiving the text message though.

Caller: ANZ Thought this looked really sus as it came from a mobile number which said it was disconnected when I tried to ring back and ANZ has never asked for a 1or2 response just yes or no. It was legit, card got declined at the pub. All for $4.10 using easy park. While I appreciate the care ANZ use to protect their customers I have used easy park multiple times I will give them a wtf courteous phone call tomorrow 😁

Caller: ANZ text message Like others here, it was a text from ANZ saying there was suspicious activity for a small amount on my credit card. Asked to reply Yes or No about whether I had authorised the transaction, which I had. Nice of them to check.
