Caller: SMS: Commonwealth Bank This is legitimate fraud protection from CBA. The number is listed on CBA’s website on a page titled “What should you do if you suspect credit card fraud?”
I’d paste a link, but you would be wise to not click on it! Check the CBA website.
I doubted the SMS, so I checked my account via a secure method and sure enough, 3 x unauthorised international transactions.
The SMS was sent because of the fraudulent transactions - not the other way around.

Same thing just happened to me. Two transactions over $200 each. I thought the text was a scam, but checked my accounts anyway, then immediately contacted the bank. I didn't think the bank would text, but they confirmed it was them, and have now cancelled my card.

Caller: Commonwealth Bank I received a text message from this number immediately after I made an international purchase.
The message contained the biller name (Google Domains), which suggested to me it was a legit SMS
I replied Yes (after checking here, just to be sure) and I then recieved the payment notification through the Commbank App.

Caller: Maybe CBA Received a message from this number saying from CBA confirming a transaction. Did not reply the message but checked the credit card transactions online and did find lots of unrecognized transactions. Called CBA by 132221 immediately to dispute all those transactions and replaced the credit card. I do not know if this message is a scam or not but do remember to check your credit card transactions immediately after received this kind of message.

I had a text message from the same mobile number and wasnt sure if it was a scam. I called the 132221 CBA phone number and they confirmed it was them sending the message because there had been a large UBER Rides transaction trying to debit my credit card. They had put through a small transaction under Uber and then only minutes later tried a transaction for over $200. This raised alarm bells at the bank who then texted me at 11-21 pm at night. They have stopped my card and ordering a new one. This is the third time my mastercard has been scammed in one way or another.

Had sms from CBA stating card suspended and needed this confirm that last transaction with last four digits xxxx was used for transaction amount $xx. Reply yes or no
Rang Cba and spoke to security who advised that they sent the text as they were concerned about the number of pay wave transactions. If I did not reply then I would need to use a pin for further transactions. Not a scam

Legitimate messages from commonwealth asking for action to block fraudulent transactions (skimmed or faked combined savings / debit card being used in a city a thousand kilometers from where I was at the time).

It is important you respond to our previous message. Please reply YES or NO.
Also received 2 messages in a row from 0427 741 911:

It is important you respond to our previous message as your card is still blocked. Please reply Yes or No.
