this is a legitimate number, it is police as I have just confirmed

Call back this number, it is confirmed the number is from police.

Said that they were police, is it actually police or are they lying?

I too also received a false text message. The "landline" number listed in the SMS is not the phone number for the Redcliffe Police Station.
