Caller: Indian guy, said he was calling from telstra He said the speeds in our area were slow and getting slower, said a technician would come to our house and supply a new modem, it would be free, but he kept saying a fee of $3 would be required for the booking, and he wanted my debit/credit card details, alarm bells began ringing, I told him I was not giving them out and hung up. He called back straight away, I didnt answer

I had the same thing. Interestingly enough,I had received and had installed a new modem for the NBN and the Telstra technician had been around and tested it and everything. I did answer the call with 'Hello Imbecile Cure Institute' and the Indian guy could not pronounce his 'own' name (and English one) and he also told me he was calling from Mell-born-ye.
