Yep, mortgage tax incentive scam BS. If the tax office has a government funded tax incentive to give you it will be credited with your tax return. The government knows you have a house, they aren’t going to ring you so you don’t ‘miss out’.

Apparently I narrowly missed out on some tax incentive last year.
