I also posted a wanted add on gumtree, he messaged stating he had what I wanted, sent pics, many messages from him impatiently, I sent him money for the items, nothing arrived, he doesn't respond to messages now nor answers the phone this person is a scammer, be aware. he sent these bank account detail for others to be aware of BSB 484-799 Acc: 121355120 Name Dean R

I posted a wanted advert on gumtree… this person messaged me claiming to have what I was looking for, but then when I asked for images, he was just sending me screenshots from the internet, and even asked what one of the items he sent a photo of was, when I asked him for more photos… got suss feelings and decided to comment here in case this person is messaging anybody else over Gumtree and potentially successfully scamming them

I had the exact same circumstance as the person above. Arranged to swap an item on Gumtree, received constant messages (even around midnight) about payment and claiming my product was faulty. He never sent his item back to me, harassed me about paying for his item in full and threatening to call the police if I didn't pay him
