Caller: 'Penelope' (First Call), then 'Lester' (when I called number back)

Had a missed call from 0421 919 412. No message left. Called back and a man by the name of 'Lester' answered. After I told him I had a missed call from this number he said that it was probably from 'Penelope'. He said he was from a company called 'Information Services Australia'. I said I had never heard of them and then he started to tell me that they offer Government information.... I hung up the call. Could clearly hear background noise on the call and it was obvious they weren't in an office / work from home environment.
Obvious scam / spam call. Do not answer / bother with these people.

Missed call. No voicemail message left. I then read the reviews on reverseauatralia.com. Blocked

Caller: Very Clever Scam Caller - Don't Be Fooled

Called the number back, spoke to a Carol, who was well spoken and quite informative. She claimed that the Government was running a new incentive scheme for home owners, where you could use 40% of your income tax to offset your debts and mortgage. When pressed on how we could use our tax to reduce our debts, she said that she did not know, but an assessor would call us to discuss our eligibility. I asked what fees were involved, she said there was a referral fee that they were paid. I had to answer a series of questions, but the main one they wanted was my phone number, without that they could not do anything. She then said that when they called again, all I had to do was refer to this call and they would pull up my records. She only asked for my first name and not surname, so clearly it is a scam, where they hook you on slowly and then spring their trap later. She was very impressive, so don't be fooled. It is definitely a scam. I asked if I could come in, but she did not have any address for her office. That says it all.

Caller: ‘Penelope first call’ then a guy answered when I called back.

Said they were calling about tax incentives, scammer. Try not answer yes to them, it seems they want to record a yes response.

Would not leave a text message. Rang repeatedly.

"We have detected suspicious activity on your bank account regarding payments to ATO".....I hung up on these bastards!

Said she was looking to check whether we were eligible for rebates, asked about investments. Would call back if we were eligible.

Caller: I didn't answer.

This number has called me 7 times in the last 4 days. I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't recognize unless they leave a message and I wish to call them back. They left no message after any of their calls but they are persistent callers. Now they are blocked.

I missed a call today from this number
I rang back soon after
I said hello and heard some “call centre” type background sound then they hung up

Apparently I can save 40% off my tax then tried to extract info about my wage and value of my home etc.
I hung up politely

I this no. after I read the review. They called me and left no message. A scammer. 👎

Any call that you think is dodgy save in your contacts as Scam/cold call
I do this & can see immediately that it's a dodgy call & not to answer.
These people called me today & I had much the same experience of everyone else who has left a comment here.
