Didn't click it, smelled a rat straight away. So, how did they know we had our NBN done yesterday, that's a BIG worry.

Scam text received about completed NBN installation survey. NBN won't be started in my area for another 12months.

I received a text message from NBN saying I could win $500 if I surveyed their services, They had been to my house within the last week so I almost opened the text message, especially because I looked at the Address associated with a text message and it was from NBN. But I hesitated and thought I’ll just check to see if it’s a scam and sure enough it was.

Received the same thing ... same text message ... it IS a scam for sure, as I don't have NBN, have never asked anyone about NBN, have not contacted anyone about NBN, nor is it available in my area yet !

So ... don't click or open anything ... and def don't put in ANY info, including your Cc number !

The NBN installers were on time but a little difficult to deal with. We indicated that we wanted the NBN socket where the existing point was, in the kitchen. We were told, no because of water first, (some metres away), then fire!. Eventually placed where the original was but installed with very large screws exposed. These were removed once I started taking photos, and replaced with bracket and correct screws covered by caps.

I thought it was suspicious so didn't click the link. What's worrying is I did have my nbn installed yesterday.

If you click on the link, you will be asked to submit a variety of personal information - such as your name address - and of course, your Visa card number, "to assist with identifying you".
I wonder how many people fall for this stunt? Got to be the oldest trick in the book, besides the pea-and-thimble trick.

Genuine messages do not contain "txt-speak", and NBN is always in capitals - and Visa is always spelt with a capital C.

I had the same rate your NBN experience, twice when we haven't had it installed.
Also it says reply stop to 0421 268 776 which I'm not game to do. I just blocked the mobile that it came from which has now come from 2 different numbers in the last 3 days.

In the last few days I have been waiting for Telstra to contact me for the NBN connection as they had just sent me the connection cable for the NBN and had told me that they would contact me when their technician was ready to make the change over. It was after getting the connection cable that I have been left messages from phone number 0421 268 776 in respect to the NBN.
