airg.com is a scam. It comes from a code obtained via news sites through Telstra and via Android news reel (swipe right), it gets your mobile number and signs you up as unknown user.. reply STOP and they wont charge you. I will be lodging a complaint with the ombudsman to have their Broadcast SMS service terminator under abuse of contact laws.

"Hi you're currently subscribed to Sports Chat costing $0.95/d on your next bill. Optout http://m.airg.ca/tsubs Helpline 1800 235 437 Free Msg".
I have not subscribed to anything. I don't do any Sports chats. It is a scam. If you contact them while you are displaying your caller ID they will know that your number is active and also try and and get your name etc etc. So I will not be contacting them. I will be blocking them.
I am on Telstra prepaid so i don't know how these scammers got my silent number

Sending STOP worked. Confirmed the unsubscribe via an angry email to them directly. Had received this txt ~ airG: You have been unsubscribed from all Chat products. You will no longer be charged.

Caller: AirG "Hi you're currently subscribed to Divas Chat costing $0.95/d on your next bill. Optout... (etc. etc.)"
It is for a company named AirG who offer several chat services.
I called Telstra and they were utterly, and expectedly, useless. I then called AirG on their supposedly toll-free number and demanded that I be unsubscribed from every service they provide and that I never be subscribed again. I also said that I did not want them to share my number with any third party. When I asked how I could have come to be subscribed the operator told me that either:
a. Somebody had gained access to my phone and followed a link where they were presented with the terms and conditions, then entered my number; or b. somebody had navigated to their site and done the same.
I asked what consideration there would be for that person to do something that only enriched AirG to which the operator replied, "we do not automatically subscribe anybody". I feel that this shows that they are not only dodgy but terrible at improvising.
To anybody who calls them please be aware of the following:
a. They ask a series of phishing questions such as your number, service provider, name etc. I refused to give them anything more than my number and service provider (information I imagine they would already have as they sent me the initial text). b. Also be aware of the language you use as you will likely be recorded. Make sure not to frame anything as "if you don't do x then I will do y" as it is a threat. c. As the company is based out of Canada it is unlikely that any effective legal action can be taken against them under Australian law. This should not discourage you from lodging a complaint with the ACCC should they fail to act on your request. d. There is every chance that they send blanket texts and only action the numbers from which they receive a response. I was aware of this going in but I reckon 95c per day, on a pre-paid account, is worth it for the catharsis of getting to eventually mess with scammers.
Please note that everything I have said here is not advice and that you should do your own research before deciding to do anything.

Just received the same unsolicited message regarding Chat Divas. At no stage did I provide my number to this company, agree to use or pay for this service or give any form of billing information.
I suspect this is a scam but should it not be, I should think Telstra should immediately intervene on behalf of their clients and prevent this predator company from billing people for services they have not requested.
