SMS's end with "It's free and voluntary, hope to see you there! Australian Government" Grammar is terrible and would not be from a government site. Can't imagine any gov.au-site finishing a text-message with "Australian Government" .... and with no full stop either. Phone number might be correct, but SMS definitely not legit.

I think the government is trying to do something weird to people and they should be utterly embarrassed of themselves.
