Caller: Scammer Scam alert:
It is the verification number for NAB online banking. BUT...
A victim of a scam where someone called our home number from WITHELD saying they were from NAB's fraud squad and wanting to know details of her account - reading a number from the back of her visa card.
They sent a verification code from this number - which said this was for online banking - which the scammer then wanted for us to give to them over the phone. The sms reads don't give this number to anyone NOT EVEN a NAB EMPLOYEE.
It's very deceptive because we rang back the bank's fraud squad and they sent out a new SMS from this same number - but the message was completely different.
Be safe and if someone calls you hang up and ring the bank back to verify!

sometimes it is safe. other times it is phising (where they are able to send a sms and it shows as another number) . In my case i received a sms on a work number (that is only used to receive work related calls and sms and has no bank account at any banks connected to it) from 0418 927 502 advising internet banking password has changed.

The same message was received by me today. I have not had an NAB account for years. I have immediately notified NAB of the scam.
