I rang the NAB bank after receiving three text messages to my number saying.... Secret Code for Password Reset is - - - - - -. Do not provide this to anyone, even NAB. Appears another customer had wrongly submitted their contact number (similar to mine but entered same as mine) and password requests were sent to my phone in error. Honestly, I'd check with any Bank to be certain just in case.

BE CAREFUL. I received a strange text supposedly from NAB on this number, so I looked at the comments here. I bank with NAB but the text was complaining that NAB couldn't send me an email telling me my statement had been sent. I had just received such an email from NAB, and there were no similar warnings from NAB on my internet banking account. Judging from other comments, I suspect that scammers might be spoofing this real NAB number. If we are NAB customers we can't block this number. We will have to be very careful as it might be hard to distinguish between a real NAB text and a text sent by a scammer.

Caller: Bank I believe a reputable number. Confirmed by SMS as I had requested that a direct debit payment had been made. I am confused by the variety of opinions on this page.

This is an actual NAB number. Someone was trying to access my account online and change my password, but security alerts/codes were being sent to my registered number (thankfully). I called bank and fraud squad now investigating. If something is out of ordinary, I would strongly advise you call your bank immediately.

I don't bank with NAB & have received various text messages on my mobile phone since August 2022 stating "don't share this code with anyone, including NAB. Your security code is xxxxx for Internet Banking Registration." In 2020 & 2021 this number was legitimately sending me text notifications that someone had transferred money into my bank account. This duality of legitimate versus scammed use is how someone may end up getting caught out by scammers. I think NAB should be warning anyone who has received a legitimate text from this number that it is also actively used by scammers.

Caller: SCAMMER If you go thru the pages of comments here U will see for urself that this number ONLY belongs to SCAMMERS. All of the positive comments ARE the scammers trying to convince anyone looking this number up that it's "safe".
It is NOT safe & NOT nab.
1 - When hav U ever thought to look up a phone number that U believe is safe? And then went as far as leaving a comment to say it's safe. You haven't. Because U don't need to.
2 - Look at the name of who is leaving the positive comments. They're either anonymous or using a stereotypical bogan name.
3 - Notice the wording used: "nab bank" "national aus bank" "national Australian bank" "nab of Australia" "Australian nab". I have never heard anyone call nab anything other than what we all call it. I'm not gonna explain in detail so the scammers can learn our language. No one can speak fluent Aussie other than those who have lived and breathed Aussie for most of their lives. U either no it, or U don't... So f*ck off U scammer c*nts. Before we send some dingoes to eat ur f*ckin babies!!

Caller: NAB NO CALLER ID. NAB always call me from a landline in Victoria & the number displays. Silence upon answering the call. Finally ID’d themselves, umming & hanging, stumbling over reason for call. I verified the information they provided. Then the red flags……..long delays & apologies for the system being a bit slow in opening my profile. I’ve been expecting a call, but usually NAB will send you an SMS text message after verifying ID, before they continue with the call, this did not happen. I asked for an SMS to be sent, so I could verify the call was from NAB. More fumbling, but received text message from this number. I thanked him for the text, then he proceeded to ask how I intend on proceeding. Calls from NAB have always been professional & exactly the same in procedure, this did not seem like it was NAB. My other thought, is that this quite possibly could have been a trainee & had a tenured specialist, shadowing them, hence the delays. I work for a call centre as a coach/mentor & the fumbling & delays, are so typical of a new trainee. I was placed on hold while he looked up a few details. That’s when I ended up here, disconnected the call & submitted my feedback. I’ve also reported the number & feedback to NAB.
